Local golfer signs with Pfeiffer University |

MISENHEIMER, N.C. Director of Golf Phil Fecteau announces three golfers have committed to Pfeiffer University. Alison Cowles (East Longmeadow), Jonathan Miles (Wilmington, N.C.) and Thomas Sennett (Bennington, Vt.) each signed National Letters of Intent during the Early Signing period.
Cowles, a two year starter on the Longmeadow High School Boys Golf team, led her team to a second place finish in sectional competition after struggling to qualify for the tournament. Her handicap is a 3.7 and has a high school scoring average of 40. Cowles is the 2008 MIAA Girls Western Massachusetts Sectional Champion. She was named Athlete of the Week by her local newspaper and she was also named to the Sunday Republican 1st team All-Scholastic Western Massachusetts Division I Golf team.
Cowles finished as a semi-finalist at the Massachusetts State Women's Amateur and in third place at the Massachusetts Junior Girls Tournament. She participates in Community of Peer Educators and has been the captain of the golf and swim teams.
