McLeod earns honors on All District track team

LEWISBURG, PA. The Bucknell track and field and cross country programs were well represented on the Academic All-District II Track & Field/Cross Country Team, which was announced June 5 by the College Sports Information Directors of America. The Bison men's team had senior David Mante (Warwick, N.Y.) and junior Kevin MacLeod (East Longmeadow) earn honors, while senior Beverly Rogers (Finleyville, Pa.) and junior Gillian Nordquist (Clarkston, Mich.) were both first team selections from the women's program.

To be eligible for the Academic All-District team, an athlete must have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing and be a varsity starter or key reserve and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.20. Each of the four Bison honorees will move to the national ballot and be eligible for Academic All-America plaudits.

A sprinter, MacLeod was a Patriot League scorer in the 60-meter hurdles, 200 and 400 indoors in 2008, marking his second consecutive year scoring in those three events. He followed that performance up with his second consecutive Patriot League title in the 400 hurdles outdoors. A two-time outdoor NCAA Regional qualifier in the 400 hurdles, MacLeod was fourth in that event at this year's IC4A Championships. Additionally, he qualified for the IC4As in the 110 hurdles and finished his career among Bucknell's top 10 outdoors in the 100, 110 hurdles and 400 intermediate hurdles.

Indoors, MacLeod holds the school record in the 60 hurdles (8.29 seconds) and ranks among the top 10 in program history in the 55 hurdles, 60, 200, 300 and 400.
