Narey named NECC Player of the Week, Riopelle sets HCC wins record Oct. 9,

ATTLEBORO – Elms College junior field hockey player Kayla Narey of South Hadley was named New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Oct. 1.
Narey earned her first NECC Player of the Week accolade after helping Elms post a 1-1 record during weekly action. Narey scored what proved to be the game-winner in a 2-0 victory over Bay Path College. Narey's strike against the Wildcats came in the non-conference matchup between the schools which will play an NECC contest in Longmeadow. later this season.
Riopelle sets record for all-time wins in HCC rout of Dean
HOLYOKE – Holyoke Community College (HCC) women's soccer team goalkeeper Malynda Riopelle of Springfield recorded her 19th career win, putting her all by herself atop the all-time HCC list as the Lady Cougars defeated Dean College 6-0 at home on Sept. 29. She also tied a program record with 13 career shutouts.
Feeding Hills' Kara Peters and Westfield's Leigh Strycharz both registered a goal and an assist for HCC.
Bombers fall to Hurricanes
WESTFIELD – Amherst defeated the host Westfield girls volleyball team 3-0 (25-13, 25-17, 25-20) on Oct. 4.
Ali Johnstone recorded four kills and five digs and Gabby Hernandez added nine digs for the Bombers
Gallo's hat trick leads SC field hockey over Wheaton
SPRINGFIELD – Kelly Gallo of Westfield scored three goals and added an assist to lead the Springfield College field hockey team to a commanding 7-0 victory over visiting Wheaton College in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference action on Oct. 2.
Pickett 'kills' the Trailblazers
CHICOPEE – Elms College sophomore outside hitter JC Pickett of Chicopee smashed a team-best 14 kills to pace the Blazers to a 3-1 (25-15, 25-19, 18-25, 25-22) victory over MCLA in an Oct. 5 non-conference women's volleyball match at Picknelly Arena.
Pickett also downed a team-high 10 kills and hit .562 for the match, in a 3-0 loss to Daniel Webster College in a Oct. 2 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) women's volleyball match.
Stonehill overwhelms AIC
EASTON – Junior back Courtney Williams of Westfield assisted the Yellow Jackets' first goal, but the American International College field hockey team was outshot 36-8 in a 3-2 loss to Stonehill College on Oct. 2.
