Penguin Invitational taking place Nov. 22 |

Over 160 entrants from throughout New England and New York are scheduled to compete at the 2008 Pioneer Valley Penguin Invitational figure skating competition sponsored by the Little Sun Valley Skating Club.
This U.S. Figure Skating sanctioned competition is taking place Nov. 22 at the Ray Smead Memorial Skating Rink at Blunt Park on Roosevelt Avenue in Springfield. Events include moves in the field, freestyle and other events in all levels from basic skills to freestyle tested levels. Start time is 8 a.m. and the event will run until approximately 6 p.m.
There will be a bake sale, raffle table and several vendors selling skating related items on site. Admission is free to the general public.
