SPRINGFIELD – Willie Reed of the Springfield Armor was named NBA Development League (D-League) Performer of the Week for games played March 11 through 17. The honor, which is the first of Reed's career, marks the third time a member of the Armor has received the award this season.

Reed recorded three double-doubles last week, including a 21-point, 20-rebound outing in a 107-80 win over the Fort Wayne Mad Ants on March 17.

For the week, he averaged 20.0 points on 67 percent shooting from the floor, to go with 17.3 rebounds, 3.3 blocks and 34.6 minutes as the Armor went 2-1 on the week.

He owns season averages of 14.9 points, 7.6 rebounds, 1.9 blocks and 28.3 minutes over 40 games, 23 starts, and has recorded nine double-doubles, scoring in double digits in 37 contests this year. Since the NBA D-League All-Star break, Reed is averaging 18.4 points, 9.7 rebounds, 2.4 blocks and 29.9 minutes over 11 games, three starts, and has recorded five double-doubles.

The Armor also announced that they acquired guard Dominique Jones from the NBA Development League's available player pool.

Jones, who stands 6-foot-5, 215 pounds and played his college basketball at South Florida, appeared in 29 games – three starts – with the Dallas Mavericks this season, averaging 4.0 points and 2.9 assists in 11.7 minutes per game before being waived on March 9.

Jones has appeared in 80 games (four starts) since he was originally selected with the 24th pick in the 2010 NBA Draft by the Memphis Grizzlies and traded to the Mavericks for cash considerations. He holds career NBA averages of 3.1 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 9.1 minutes per game and was a member of the 2011 NBA champion Mavericks as a rookie.

Jones has also appeared in 13 games – 10 starts – during two NBA D-League assignments with the Texas Legends, the Mavericks' affiliate, and holds career NBA D-League averages of 17.5 points, 4.6 rebounds and 4.4 assists in 33.8 minutes per game.

The Brooklyn Nets also assigned forward Tornike Shengelia and guard Tyshawn Taylor to the Armor.

This will be the fifth time this season Shengelia has been assigned to Springfield. In seven games with the Armor, Shengelia is averaging 25.1 points, 8.6 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 2.3 steals per game. Shengelia recorded a triple-double with 22 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds in his NBA D-League debut on Dec. 21, 2012 against Erie, and followed that showing with a 39-point outburst on Jan. 24 against Maine, which is tied for the third-most points scored in the NBA D-League this season on 17 field goals made, a league-best.

This will be the fourth time this season Taylor has been assigned to the Armor. In five games with Springfield, Taylor is averaging 25.4 points, 7.6 assists and 4.2 rebounds per game. Taylor scored a game-high 32 points in his NBA D-League debut on Dec. 2, 2012.
