WILBRAHAM Andre Drummond, the number one ranked basketball player for the class of 2012, and Kris Dunn one of the top 30 ranked players, both announced this month that they will be attending Wilbraham & Monson Academy in the fall.
Drummond is anticipated to be “one of the elite big men of the last decade” according to ESPN.com and has been compared to professional basketball’s finest such as Amare Stoudemire and Shawn Kemp.
Previously a student at St. Thomas More, Drummond decided to make the switch to Wilbraham & Monson Academy after researching the school and its academic offerings. He will attend as a postgraduate.
Dunn is transferring from New London High School and will be a senior this fall.
“We’re excited about both students becoming part of the Wilbraham & Monson Academy community,” Chris Sparks, basketball coach and director of Admission at the Academy, said. “The implication for our basketball team is tremendous, not to mention that our combination of academics and athletics will really prepare both young men for any future career goals they may have.”
