ADDY winners to be celebrated at gala April 5

SPRINGFIELD – Paying tribute to the Motown Sound this year, the Advertising Club of Western Massachusetts (ACWM) will celebrate 2013 ADDY competition entrants and winners at the ADDY Awards Gala April 5 from 6 to 10 p.m., at the Community Music School of Springfield's Robyn Newhouse Hall, 127 State St. The annual ADDY competition recognizes advertising excellence in all media including print, broadcast, interactive, out-of-home and public service advertising. A total of 173 entries were judged this year from agencies, companies, and individuals in western Massachusetts and the New England region. All will be on display at the gala. A distinguished panel of advertising experts selected the winners. The panel, all experienced judges on a national level, included John Mulder, president, 3Seed Marketing & Design Studio; Julie Moyer, lead designer, 3Seed Marketing & Design Studio; and William Childs, creative director, The Morning Call Media Group. Sponsored by Baystate Health, MassLive.com, Reminder Publications, The Republican, Zoe Design Works, Sir Speedy and RTH Group, East Longmeadow, the ADDY Award celebration begins at 6 p.m. with a cash bar, grand buffet and entertainment during entry viewing, followed by a presentation of awards at 7 p.m. with dancing, coffee and dessert following. Special guests Mahogany, a five-piece show band specializing in the Motown Sound, will also perform during and after the awards presentation. Tickets are $45 per person. Reservations must be made in writing and in advance by March 29. Tickets may be purchased online at adclubwm.org or by calling 736-CLUB (2582).
