Applicants requested for LHS Building Committee

The town of Longmeadow is seeking qualified candidates to serve on the Longmeadow High School Building Committee (LHSBC). The primary purpose of this committee is as follows:

Collaboration with the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) on all facets and steps of the process,

General monitoring of the Application process with the MSBA,

Providing advice relative to the effect of the Proposed Project on the community and to examine building design and construction in terms of its constructability, and

Advise the town throughout the process and during the construction of an approved project.

Applicants must be a Longmeadow resident and must have experience in architecture, engineering and/or construction or closely related experience. Applications are available on the Select Board Web page on www.longmeadow.org or in the Select Board Office, 20 Williams St.

Completed applications, with relevant experience, must be submitted to the Select Board office no later than June 11 at 4 p.m. Qualified applicants will be jointly interviewed by the Select Board and School Committee at a meeting on June 16 at 6 p.m. in the Police Station Community Meeting Room, 34 Williams St. Applicants must be present for the interview to be considered. Appointments will be made on June 23 at a joint meeting of the Select Board and School Committee, in the School Committee Room at 7:15 p.m. The MSBA shall approve the final composition of the school building committee of which approval shall not be unreasonably withheld.
