SPRINGFIELD The very popular interior design certificate program, taught by interior designed Janet Lyon, long-time owner of Janet Lyon Interiors, will begin soon at Springfield Technical Community College (STCC). This program is offered by the Center for Business and Technology (CBT) at the college and provides participants with the opportunity to learn decorating and design secrets from a practicing professional.
Students may choose to take single courses or complete all six of the courses required for the certificate in interior design:
Interior design I: decorator secrets revealed
Interior design II
History of design
Textiles
Marketing through color and design, and
Commercial design.
A wide variety of field trips and student projects in this program make the theory and practice of interior design a real "hands-on" experience.
