|LONGMEADOW Jewish Geriatric Services is pleased to announce that Laurie Alves, RN, WCC, Assistant Director of Nursing at the Julian J. Leavitt Family Jewish Nursing Home, is a 2009 recipient of a Long Term Care Finance Association Scholarship. Alves, a resident of Three Rivers, is pursuing her bachelor's degree in nursing at the Elms College in Chicopee.|
The Long Term Care Finance Association is a voluntary membership group comprised of individuals within the long term health care industry which offers this annual scholarship to applicants who are recommended by their supervisor, employed in a Massachusetts at a long-term care facility, whose course of study relates to the long-term care industry and is offer by a formal accredited institution or certified program.
Sarah L. Jackson, BSN, RN of Northampton, has been appointed to the position of Performance Improvement Coordinator for Spectrum Home Health and Hospice Care. This role will include monitoring and auditing compliance with National Patient Safety Goals and on the condition of Medicare as a Home Health Care Agency with the goal of keeping the nursing practice as safe and efficient as possible.
Jackson has over a decade of experience in the home care field, most recently serving as the Director of Patient Services role at this same organization.
Jewish Geriatric Services is pleased to announce that Sandra DuBois has accepted the position of Practice Office Manager at JGS Family Medical Care. DuBois brings over a decade of experience in practice development, software implementation and management most recently with Cooley Dickinson Practice Associates and Shields Health Care. DuBois resides in Holyoke.
Anne R. Most, MSW, LicSW of Longmeadow has been appointed Volunteer Coordinator for the Spectrum Hospice program. Most received her graduate degree at Boston University and has worked in a variety of clinical settings in Vermont. She will be responsible for recruiting volunteers and matching their skills with the needs of the patients and families served by the Spectrum Hospice team. The volunteer corps includes traditional volunteers and "therapy dog volunteers." This special program is supported by the Albert E. and Lillian M. Marceau Foundation for the Terminally Ill.
Kathleen Benoit, MS, RN, NP has been names Director of Hospice for Spectrum Home Health and Hospice Care. Benoit received her nursing degree from the Elms College and her graduate degree from Boston University. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society and the Lambda Xi at Elms College.
