| The American Heart Association (AHA) and the American Stroke Association will be sponsoring the following events during the month of May.|
On May 17, the AHA will host its 2009 Pioneer Valley Start! Heart Walk at Forest Park in Springfield. Registration begins at 9 a.m., with the walk starting at 10 a.m.
The AHA will host its annual walk to fight cardiovascular disease and stroke at Forest Park. The walk features one-, two- and five-mile courses. A light breakfast and lunch will be served. A Kid's Zone includes a bounce house, games and entertainment. Prize incentives are available for fundraising. For more information call 827-0400. The American Stroke Association presents its annual forum that provides valuable education, tools and resources for survivors and caregivers of stroke. This year's forum theme is "Making the Stroke Connection: Adaptation, Accessibility, Attitude." The goal of this event is to improve the quality of life for stroke survivors, their caregivers and family members. Admission is $5 and includes a light breakfast and lunch.
