Applications now being accepted for CNA program at STCC
The Center for Business and Technology at Springfield Technical Community College (STCC) announces that 100 percent of the students who completed the Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) Program passed the recent state certification exam.
The employment of nurse aides is projected to grow 28 percent between 2006 and 2016, much faster than the average and the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) projects the addition of 264,000 positions during the next decade.
The Center for Business and Technology at STCC will offer the evening Nurse Aide and CPR Certificate Program again later this month. This program is designed to provide participants with job skills that will allow entry into the health care field as well as preparation for the Massachusetts state board examination to become a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA).
Classes will be conduced two to three nights per week and clinical experience will take place during late afternoon/evening hours in a local nursing home under the supervision of Registered Nurse (RN) instructors. Major topics will include vital signs, moving and turning patients, personal care basics, bed making, bed bath and feeding, record keeping and responding to emergencies.
Applications are now being accepted for the next program and space is limited. Interested individuals should go to http://cbt.stcc.edu
