AGAWAM – The Atrium at Cardinal Drive is hosting a program for healthcare professionals to learn about Five Wishes. |
Developed by the nonprofit organization, Aging with Dignity, Five Wishes is a tool to facilitate advanced care planning. Written in easy-to-understand language, Five Wishes assists people in determining and documenting their wishes regarding end-of-life care.
The guide encourages people to think about whom they would want to make health care decisions for them if they are unable as well as the types of medical treatment that they would or would not want.
Five Wishes gets people to think about how comfortable they want to be, how they want to be treated by others, and what they want their loved ones to know.
Presented by Hospice Services of Western Massachusetts, the program will be presented at The Atrium, 153 Cardinal Drive, at 8 a.m. on Jan. 24. Breakfast will be included and Continuing Education Units are available for nurses and for social workers.
The program is free-of-charge, but space is limited. To reserve a seat, contact Tracey Pidgeon at 342-1349.
