Doctors Express adds Vitale, physicians assistants
SPRINGFIELD – The Springfield-based Doctors Express, a same-day urgent care provider that is part of the national Doctors Express franchise, announced on July 2 the appointment of a new urgent care physician, Marie P. Vitale, MD, as well as several physician assistants.
The local Doctors Express urgent care facility is experiencing rapid growth, providing health care services to individuals throughout the greater Springfield area.
“I’m thrilled to join Doctors Express,” Vitale said. “We are revolutionizing the health care process that has been stunted by unrealistic appointment waiting lists. It’s an easy philosophy to buy into, which is why we are successful here at Doctors Express. We believe in advancing patient care.”
Vitale, of Suffield, Conn., has practiced medicine in New England since 1996, specializing in both traditional family medicine and urgent care. She received her Doctor of Medicine degree from St. Louis University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree, also from St. Louis University. She entered the United States Air Force and completed her residency at Eglin Air Force Base Regional Hospital in northwest Florida. After two more duty stations in South Korea and Washington, D.C., she entered private practice. Vitale is board certified in Family Medicine and a member of the American Academy of Family Practice.
Doctors Express Urgent Care Center has two locations; one at 415 Cooley St., and a second location at 18 Union St., in West Springfield. The center provides state-of-the-art treatment for acute illness, trauma and sports injuries (including minor surgical procedures) and has an onsite digital x-ray service.
