Dr. Linda Nelson to return to Alternative Health

Dr. Linda Nelson, nationally recognized naturopathic doctor and author of the bestselling books "Fibromyalgia and Candida Living Symptom Free" and "Losing Mom: A Holistic Approach to Healthy Aging," is releasing her latest book on cancer titled "From Survivor to Triathlete," her daughter-in-law's journey from stage III breast cancer to total wellness.

In this book, Nelson explains how traditional medicine and holistic approaches work together interrogatively to help us stay well through early detection, ridding the body of cancer and giving the body what it needs to heal itself.

Nelson, who has her practice in Salt Lake City, Utah, will be in the area Sept. 17 through 19 to celebrate Alternative Health's 10 year anniversary of being in business and helping people regain their health.

Nelson teaches people how to live drug free through a holistic approach to healthy living and aging. She has developed "Lifestyle Change Programs" that are used in over 2,000 wellness centers, both domestically and abroad. Her programs have helped thousands of people live symptom free from many auto-immune diseases often associated with aging such as fibromyalgia, candida, MS, arthritis, Alzheimer's and dementia.

In honor of their 10th anniversary, Alternative Health will be offering free wellness consultations during the month of September to anyone who would like to learn more about taking control of their health.

Nelson will also give a lecture titled "What You Need to Know about Cancer and other Auto-immune Disorders" on Sept. 17 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn in Holyoke.

She will discuss risk factors for cancer and other auto-immune disorders; the origin and progression of cancer; the immune system, the greatest weapon against the onset and spread of cancer; lifestyle changes needed to rebuild the immune system; skills needed to take charge of a person's health; and disease through the eyes of a caregiver.

Reservations for this free lecture are required. To make a reservation, call 569-1155.

For more information on free seminars that will be open to the public, or to schedule a free consultation at one of Alternative Health's locations in Southwick, Northampton or West Hartford, Conn., call 569-1155 or visit www.alternativehealthspas.info.
