Farrelly Bros. movie role to be auctioned at fundraiser
SPRINGFIELD The American Heart Association's Ninth Annual Western Massachusetts Heart Ball, which will take place at Chez Josef in Agawam on Oct. 17, will feature a once in a lifetime chance for someone to walk away with a part in an upcoming Farrelly Brothers movie.
During the evening's live auction, guests will have a chance to bid on a non-speaking featured walk on extra role in a Farrelly Brothers movie. The Farrelly Brothers are currently working on several projects including the much anticipated movie "The Three Stooges."
A date and location for the walk on part has not been set but is expected to take place in the next six months. Round trip airline tickets to the movie location destination are included in the live auction package as well. The winner will also have the opportunity to spend time with the cast and crew as well as stay in the same hotel if desired.
"We are so excited to have this unbelievable opportunity to auction off at our Heart Ball," Executive Director Maureen Mandirola, said. "We don't have any idea how high the bid will go, but we do know that the money will go to help fund research and education to fight heart disease and stroke which also affects children." This year's Heart Ball has a special focus on heart disease in children, the number one birth defect.
Peter and Bobby Farrelly are screenwriters and directors of 11 comedy films including "Dumb & Dumber," "There's Something About Mary," "Kingpin," "Shallow Hal," "Stuck on You," "Fever Pitch" and most recently, "The Heartbreak Kid."
Other items to be auctioned during the evening include a trip to Martha's Vineyard with accommodations at the luxurious Boathouse Club & Spa and private Edgartown Harbor cruise with a five star dinner, a Red Sox package including premium seats at a game, dinner and apartment accommodations on Copley Square, as well as various other trips and unique packages.
