She earned her license to practice as a Real Estate professional in May, 2010 and joined Ayre Real Estate Co. Inc. immediately thereafter. She joins her husband Tom to form a team effort, known as "Mathes to the Power of 2."
A 1979 graduate of Western Maryland College, Gail lives in Feeding Hills with her husband and their two sons, Tony and Sammy.
Prior to motherhood, Gail enjoyed success in both the private business sector and by serving the country as a U.S. Army officer. She left the military service in December 1985 as a captain, having served in many capacities worldwide.
In 1986, Gail developed, owned and operated six Jiffy Service Centers in Southern Worcester County. Her experience includes searching for, negotiating, buying, leasing and constructing the centers.
The year 1991 found Gail and her new husband Tom operating a Jiffy Lube Service Center in the Midwest, where they also bought, sold and rented residential properties. They added another business venture, an automatic transmission repair shop, which she operated until 1997.
In 1997, Gail and her family returned to Massachusetts. Gail is an avid tennis player, enjoys fitness activities and volunteers and activates for The Jimmy Fund, National Alliance for the Mentally Ill-Western Mass., and Agawam Congregational Church, Loaves and Fishes Soup Kitchen in Springfield and served as a Court Appointed Child Advocate (CASA).
