Harmony House to raise funds through March bus trip to Mohegan Sun
CHICOPEE Harmony House will be conducting a bus trip to Mohegan Sun casino on March 6. The bus will depart at 9 a.m. from the parking lot of the Home Depot on Memorial Avenue and be returning at 5 p.m.
For $30 per person, attendees will receive a $15 food coupon, two $10 free bets and one $5 bet.
This fundraising event is designed to realize the vision of Harmony House, a compas-sionate home for terminally ill individuals who lack financial resources or an able caregiver to care for them.
Harmony House, a non-profit organization, began as a dream of Ruth Willemain, a hospice volunteer since 1999, to create a place of love and compassion where terminally ill people would not be left to die alone in pain. Volunteers from various walks of life, religions and ethnic groups would accompany, in dignity and love, people who are living the last phase of their lives.
Willemain, along with an energetic board of directors, is hard at work raising funds to make Harmony House a reality through fundraisers such as this.
