YEAST-FREE DIET TALK

Beth Boulden, Mt. Holyoke College, will speak at Better Life, 1500 Allen St., on June 26 at 6:30 p.m. "Living Well with a Yeast Free Diet" can be a challenge on top of symptoms from Candidias. Candida affects one of three Americans, is an balance in the body from a parasitic yeast like fungus, implicating physical and mental problems, including asthma, bronchitis, depression, fatigue, gastrointestinal disorders, memory loss and behavioral disorders. DIABETES 101 CLASS

The Diabetes Education Center at Mercy Medical Center, 300 Stafford St., Suite 253 in Springfield, is offering a free diabetes class on June 23 from 2:30 - 4 p.m. The class will provide an overview of diabetes and discuss the treatment plan including meal planning, medications, exercise, blood glucose monitoring and strategies for preventing complications. Come learn how to take care of your diabetes. The class is free of charge. People with diabetes, their family members and friends as well as members of the general public are welcome to attend. Registration is requested. Call the Diabetes Education Center at Mercy Medical Center at 748-7000.
