Indigo Holistic Healing Center, Breathing Deeply Yoga Studio offer combined classes

Sept. 19, 2013
FLORENCE – Indigo Wholistic Healing Center of Florence and Breathing Deeply Yoga Studio of Northampton are joining forces to offer relaxed, body-centered and safe yoga classes in the center of Florence at the Indigo studios.

Weather permitting, the combined class will also be led outdoors Sundays at 11 a.m. at Park Hill Orchard in Easthampton through October as part of the Art in the Orchard festival.

“The goal is to be in our bodies in one of the most beautiful settings in the Valley,” Charity Ritscher, the owner of Indigo, said. “We want to make yoga and movement accessible by teaching to a wide level of abilities and offering classes by donation.”

The classes are open to all levels; there is no fee, but donations are accepted.

Ritscher said the combined yoga classes are taught by massage therapists who have worked extensively with people with injuries, body challenges or weight issues.

“Teachers draw on their deep understanding and sensitivity to the body,” she said. “There is an emphasis on creating a gentle, loving and safe environment.”

Indigo Wholistic Healing Center offers individual bodywork sessions from alternative and traditional modalities that include four-hand massage, deep tissue and gentle massage, acupuncture, craniosacral therapy, Ayurvedic consultations and Reiki and energy balancing. Indigo also offers Qi Qong and meditation.

Low-income clinics are offered Mondays from 4 to 8 p.m. and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to noon. No appointment is necessary during these times.
