GREATER SPRINGFIELD The Springfield JCC invites the general community to overcome winter blues by staying active. Writing classes and dance classes will begin mid-December; painting and ballroom dance classes will begin in January. Below is a complete listing.

Watercolor: Thursdays, Jan. 8 - March 19 (no class Feb. 19), 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. $60 for JCC members, $80 for general public. Join instructor Sally Ann Johnson, a painter and printmaker.
Acrylic/Oil/Pastel Painting: Wednesdays, Jan. 7 - March 25 (no class Feb. 18 and 25), 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. $60 for JCC members, $80 for general public. Join instructor Barbara Cohen, professional artist for 50 years, member of several art associations.
Advanced Tap: Mondays, Dec. 15 - March 16 (no classes Dec. 29, Feb. 16 and 23 and March 2), 1 - 2 p.m. $30 for JCC members, $45 for general public. Join instructor Delores Morin, who has many interests and hobbies, which include studying dance and choreography.
Ballroom Lessons: Sundays, Jan. 4 - March 8 (no class March 23 or April 20). Beginner: Swing & Mambo, 4 - 5 p.m.; Intermediate: Waltz & Tango, 5 - 6 p.m. $70 for JCC members, $85 for general public. Instructor Lynn Jasmin will put you in touch with the latest Ballroom Dance steps.
Creative Writing: Mondays, Dec. 15 - March 2 (no classes Dec. 22 and 29); Tuesdays, Dec. 16 - March 3 (no classes Dec. 23 and 30); Fridays, Dec. 19 - March 6 (no classes Dec. 26 and Jan. 2). $70 for JCC members, $80 for general public. Join Sylvia Rosen for the most popular class at the JCC!
