Socha named Kindred Healthcare's newest CEO |

SPRINGFIELD — Kindred Healthcare named Jake Socha as chief executive officer (CEO) for its Springfield Hospital.
The appointment was announced earlier this year by James J. Novak, executive vice president of Kindred Healthcares East Region Hospital Division. Socha will be accountable for all operations for one of Kindred Healthcares' largest hospitals in the division.
Socha recently served as Kindred Hospital Park View Springfield's chief operating officer (COO). Prior to this appointment, Socha served as the CEO and administrator at Kindred Hospital in Natick. Under his direction, the Natick hospital received a Silver Award for Most Improved Hospital in Kindred Hospitals' East Region.
"I'm extremely excited to be working with such a committed team of healthcare providers here in our Springfield based hospital as well as working with all of the wonderful healthcare providers and professionals in the area. My immediate focus is to continue to improve upon our quality initiatives and customer satis-faction programming while at the same time ensure we manage our business appropriately." Socha said.
Prior to joining Kindred, Socha a Springfield College graduate and Ludlow resident, had multiple senior leadership and executive positions throughout the region. He began his healthcare career as the director of Operations and Marketing for Rehab West. Socha also served as the regional director of Development and Marketing with HealthSouth. He also served as COO and vice president of Operations for Hampden County Physicians one of the largest multi-specialty physician groups in the Pioneer Valley and was co-founder of Innovative Physician Services.
Kindred Hospitals provide aggressive, specialized inter-disciplinary care to medically complex patients who require extended recovery time.
Kindred Hospital Park View offers care for patients who are seriously ill with multiple medical problems. Many require ventilator management and weaning, pulmonary care, extensive wound care or dialysis, among other clinical services.
