STCC offers wide range of programs to prepare entry-level health care professionals

SPRINGFIELD Based on the U.S. Department of Labor forecasts, about 26 percent of all new jobs created in the U.S. economy will be in the healthcare and social assistance industry. This industry which includes public and private hospitals, nursing and residential care facilities, and individual and family services is expected to grow by 24 percent, or four million new jobs during the next eight to 10 years.

The Center for Business and Technology (CBT) at Springfield Technical Community College offers a wide range of programs to prepare entry-level health care professionals including: Nurse aide and CPR certificate program; Phlebotomy technician certificate program; Medical and community interpreting certificate program; Emergency medical technician (EMT) training; Professional pharmacy technician; EKG technician training program; Medical coding and billing certificate program; Medical transcription certificate program; Veterinary assistant.

Most programs are tied to national industry certifications and applications are now being accepted for the upcoming term. Space is limited and early application is strongly recommended.
