Vegan Potluck Planned

The Northern Connecticut Vegetarian Society (NCVS) is a non-profit organization which advocates a compassionate and healthy vegetarian diet. All people who want to improve their health and the health of our world are welcome.

On Jan. 31 at 5 p.m., the NCVS will have a vegan potluck with Sproutman Steve Meyerowitz. He will show how totally feasible it is to provide luscious, organic greens from your soil-free kitchen garden to the dinner table in the middle of winter. Experience the world's freshest food for only pennies per pound.

Meyerowitz is a health crusader and author of 10 books including his most recent book "The Organic Food Guide: How to Shop Smarter and Eat Healthier." His sprouting inventions, such as the "Hemp Sprout Bag," are sold nationwide.

Attendees should bring a healthy vegan dish to share along with its recipe and the attendee's name. Also, attendees should bring their place setting. A donation of $8 per adult is requested. Children are free. The Carniglia Senior Center, 41 Oak St., Windsor Locks, Conn., is the location for this event.
