CHICOPEE Arbors at Chicopee Summer Camp will offer a variety of programs from June to August.
The organization's traditional summer camp offers fun activities and events designed to keep campers engaged in a variety of adventures and activities including: swimming, arts and crafts, board games, Frisbee, camp songs, capture the flag, nature walks, scheduled entertainment and field trips.
Campers will also have the ability to participate in competitive and non-competitive sports like three-legged races, kick ball, dodge ball, soccer, basketball, baseball, Nerf football and archery.
Each camper will receive an Arbors Camp T-shirt and water bottle.
The camp's theme this summer is the Olympics. Every camp week will have a special theme of activities and events. Campers will be busy with fun and exciting activities like cooking, arts and crafts and sports. Every Friday, campers will be involved in an All Camp Competition. Working together as a team is important to those at the Arbors Camp.
Camp organizers are also looking forward to the many field trip experiences that are planned for this summer. Field trips are designed to provide campers with a hands on experience that is both fun and educational. This year's trips include Lupa Zoo, Chicopee State Park, and the Springfield Science Museum.
Plans are also in the works for two movie nights. Families are welcome to come and watch a movie under the stars.
The Arbors Camp is adjacent to The Arbors Kids on Memorial Drive. These camp facilities include well-maintained playing fields and a swimming pool with enclosed cabana. The large picnic pavilion provides a shady place for non-sport activities as well as a cool area for snacks and lunch.
The pavilion's open sides can be closed during inclement weather. The Pavilion out in the field is open and for the oldest kids at camp for shade, lunch time, and Journal Writing.
Camp hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday and provides a full eight-hour session.
Pre Camp runs from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. Pre Camp is available every day. Children who attend this morning program will be able to play board games, make arts and crafts and have extra time to socialize with their friends in a supervised environment.
Post Camp takes place from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Post Camp is available every day. Children who attend this afternoon program will be able to participate in quiet games, arts and crafts or play outdoor and field games in a supervised environment.
All campers can bring their own lunch and snack to camp each day. For safety reasons, camp organizers request that campers do not send peanut butter, due to potential allergies, or glass bottles. Lunch is also offered at $4 per day.
The Arbors Camp will provide an experienced staff of directors, coaches and counselors. For more information, visit www.arborskids.com.
