Eagle Scouts

Feb. 24, 2010.

On Jan. 10, Boy Scout Troop 32 of Springfield inducted two boys as the troop's latest Eagle Scouts. They are Matt MacKenzie of Longmeadow (left) and Frank Ascioti (right) of Westfield. The ceremonies took place at the troops' sponsor, Temple Beth El, 979 Dickinson St., Springfield.

Ascioti, who has two brothers who are Eagle Scouts, organized a supply drive for the new Dakin Animal Center in Springfield as his Eagle community service project. He raised over 500 pounds of food and supplies.

MacKenzie built bicycle racks for Turner Park in his hometown of Longmeadow as his Eagle community service project.
