Teardrop Blankets

This month, many of the teachers at the Jewish Community Center (JCC) in Springfield have been busy crocheting and knitting blankets for the “preemies” in the local hospitals.

Jennifer Payne, a preschool teacher at the JCC, has led the project. Her two sisters were born premature on New Year’s Eve in 1990. Her mom had difficulty finding garments and blankets small enough for the girls. In their honor, Payne has started the “Teardrop Blankets Project.”

Pictured are JCC preschool teachers Maureen Marchacos, Cindy Gladstone, Jenn Payne, Heather Lewis and Mikki Langone.
