EAST LONGMEADOW
BOOK CLUB MEETING
The East Longmeadow Book Club will meet on Dec. 30 at 10:30 a.m. at the Pleasant View Senior Center, 328 N. Main St., to discuss "The Shack" by William Paul Young. All are welcome to attend.

CHORAL CONCERT

TOWN OFFICES HOLIDAY SCHEDULE
The public is advised that the East Longmeadow Town Hall, Council on Aging and Public Library will be closed on Dec. 25 and 26 and Jan. 1 and 2. The Public Library will be open on Dec. 27 and Jan. 3.

LICENSES AVAILABLE
Town Clerk Thomas Florence announces that 2009 Hunting, Fishing and Trapping Licenses are now available at the East Longmeadow Town Clerk's office. If you are not an East Longmeadow resident, payment must be make by cash only. Office hours are 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Call the Clerk's office at 525-5400 ext. 410 with any questions.

FALCONS TICKETS
The E.L. Rec. Dept. is selling season tickets to all Falcons hockey games at a cost of $11/pp vouchers are good for any game. Come into Office weekdays to purchase.

STRENGTH TRAINING
The E.L. Rec. Dept. is offering a second session of our strength training class beginning Jan. 7. This class meets on Wed. evenings for 12 weeks from 5 - 6 p.m. Designed for adults interested in maintaining and strengthening overall muscles without seeking to build bulk. Come into Office weekdays to register.

WINTER CHEERLEADING
E.L. Rec. Dept. still has openings for residents in its winter cheerleading program for those presently in grades 2 - 7. Class meets on Tues./Thurs. from 6 - 7:30 p.m. from Jan. 6 - March 26. Come into Office weekdays to register.

WILDLIFE SERIES
The E.L. Rec. Dept. Wildlife Series program "American Black Bear" will be presented at the E. L. Library on Dec. 20 from 1 - 2:30 p.m. Admission is free. Colorful slide show and selection of hands-on materials. Presented by Horizon Productions Founder/Director, Fran Ryan, who is an environmental educator and journalist with an MS in Environmental Science.

SENIOR FRIENDSHIP CLUB
The East Longmeadow Senior Friendship Club will close out 2008 with their annual Christmas Pageant with the Senior Chorus performing on Dec. 18 at the Pleasant View Senior Center, 328 North Main St. Luncheon will be roast pork w/gravy, mashed potatoes and brussels sprouts. Call 525-5436 at least one day in advance for lunch reservations.

DANCE PERFORMANCE & HOT CHOCOLATE SOCIAL
On Dec. 30, the Pleasant View Senior Center will welcome dancers ages four through adult from "The Next Step Dance Studio," who will perform from 2 - 3 p.m. Refreshments will be served, with hot chocolate provided by Redstone Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. This performance is free and open to the public.

CHRISTMAS SERVICES

GREATER SPRINGFIELD
UNIVERSITY WITHOUT WALLS
The University Without Walls hosts small group info sessions several times a month with a UWW rep who will review all the key features of UWW and answer prospective students' questions. DISCOUNTED FALCONS TICKETS
The Longmeadow Parks & Rec. Dept. is offering discounted $11 tickets for Springfield Falcons home games at the MassMutual Center. Longmeadow Parks & Rec. Dept. will receive $1 from each ticket sold. Ticket vouchers may be purchased at the Parks & Recr. office with cash, check or credit card, and exchanged at the MassMutual Center box office for any home game. GREENWOOD PRESCHOOL

TEEN CENTER
Youths in grades 6 - 8 and their guests are welcome to come and enjoy a supervised evening out on Fridays from 7 - 10 p.m. at the Greenwood Center. Admission is $7 per person. Enjoy dancing and games as well as new theme nights and activities! All students must sign in prior to entry. School dress codes are followed. Teen Center is run and staffed by area college students. NEW MOMS SUPPORT GROUP
One of the most exciting times of your life can be when you are the parent of an infant. Come share your success stories about the new little person in your life. Gain support from other parents, meet new friends and establish bonds with other new parents. This group is open to new parents and their infants from birth to one year of age. This program is offered in conjunction with Baystate Medical Center Parent Education Department. Group meets at Greenwood Children's Center on Thursdays from 10 - 11 a.m. This program is free.

CO-ED VOLLEYBALL
This fun, non-competitive atmosphere allows player to improve their skills. It is a great way to stay active and meet new people. Players with basic volleyball skills are urged to join. MEN'S BASKETBALL
Evening pick up games at Glenbrook Gym provide the opportunity for a great work out, competition and fun. Pay for the whole season in advance or pay on a walk in basis. CHRISTMAS SERVICE
Foster Memorial Church invites everyone to join them for a special Blue Christmas service on Dec. 21 at 4 p.m. The focus of the service is to acknowledge and support people who are struggling during the holidays. Join us and bring a friend. Included in this service is time for quiet reflection, songs for the season and prayer with candlelight. There is no monetary offering. The Boar's Head Festival
