TEEN MOVIE NIGHT
On Dec. 30 at 6 p.m., the Agawam Public Library will be screening "Knight and Day" with Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz for teens in grades seven through 12. Event will include pizza, juice, popcorn and fun. Register by calling the library.
OPEN JURIED PHOTO SHOW

DIABETES SUPPORT GROUP
The next meeting will be Jan. 10 at 1:30 p.m. at the Chicopee Senior Center, 7 Valley View Court. Diane Weston, R.N. will provide information on ways to manage diabetes, help you with diet plan, provide instruction on the use of a glucometer, information on research and new developments and answer questions. A support group to help those who have suffered the loss of a loved one, no matter when, whether recent or some time ago, will take place on Jan. 11 at 1 p.m. at the Chicopee Council on Aging, 7 Valley View Court. On Jan. 12 from 9 a.m. to noon there will be a cholesterol screening done at the Chicopee Senior Center, 7 Valley View Court. The screening does not require fasting and will provide total cholesterol results. Individuals are taken on a first-come basis and a donation of $5 is appreciated. To register, call 534-3698.
"CELTIC NIGHTS" TRIP
Join the Chicopee Senior Travel Club for a trip to Venus DeMilo in Swansea, Mass. for an afternoon performance of "Celtic Nights," starring Tony Kenny, Joe Cuddy and Celtic Dancers on March 10. Holyoke Community College (HCC) and the Community Education Project will offer a free course to help adult learners prepare for college. HOLIDAY TRASH COLLECTION
The Department of Public Works reminds Springfield residents who have municipal trash collection on Fridays that there will be rubbish collection on Dec. 31. Residents who have recycling collection service on Dec. 31 should also place out their recyclables and yard waste for their regularly scheduled pick-up. Items should be placed out for collection no later than 7 a.m. on the day of collection. For more info on collection days, residents can call 3-1-1 or 736-3111.
CITY HALL HOLIDAY SCHEDULE
The City Collector's and City Clerk's Offices will close to the public at 4 p.m., on Dec. 30. These offices are ordinarily open until 6 p.m. on Thursday nights. Springfield City Hall and satellite municipal buildings will be closed all day Dec. 31. This closing will apply only to non-emergency city employees. All emergency personnel positions will remain staffed. There will be municipal trash collection on Dec. 31 for residents with Friday trash collection service.

WATER SAFETY INSTRUCTORS
The YMCA of Greater Westfield will be offering American Red Cross certification training as Water Safety Instructors starting Jan. 28 at 67 Court St. Classes on Sundays after the screening. GED PREP CLASSES
Westfield Community Education's Information Night for GED Preparation Classes for the spring 2011 semester will take place Jan. 25 at 6 p.m. in the Lang Auditorium of the Athenaeum. FATHER DAUGHTER DANCE
