AGAWAM
FREE TAX-AIDE
AARP tax aide volunteers will be providing free tax return preparation during February, March and April at the Agawam Senior Center. Call to make an appointment. Bring a copy of last year's tax return to expedite preparation. Also bring a copy of real estate taxes and water/sewer bills paid in 2007 if you quality for the "Circuit Breaker" property tax credit. Bring heating fuel receipts for January, February and March 2007 for possible state tax reduction. AARP tax aide volunteers work in conjunction with the IRS to bring you this service free of charge. Call the senior center at 821-0605 to make an appointment. This service is available only to Agawam senior citizens.

CHICOPEE
SPAGHETTI SUPPER
Faith United Methodist Church, 191 Montcalm St., will host a spaghetti supper Feb. 21 from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. Cost: $5, adult; $2.50, children eight to 12; free for children under eight. Dinner includes spaghetti and meatballs, salad, bread, homemade desserts, coffee and cold drinks. Take-out is available by calling 533-6093 after 2 p.m. We are handicap accessible to the Fellowship Hall and Sanctuary.

PANCAKE BREAKFAST
Boy Scout Troop 131 will be having an all you can eat pancake breakfast on Feb. 10 from 7:30 a.m. - noon at the St. Stanislaus School cafeteria, 534 Front St. Tickets are $5 for adults and $2.50 for children 12 and under. Proceeds from this event will go toward the cost of Boy Scout Summer Camp.

WRITING GROUP
A group of friendly people gather informally in the Chicopee Senior Center, 7 Valley View Ct. on the first and third Friday of each month at 1 p.m. Bring paper, a pen or pencil and a desire to share your ideas, imagination, life experiences or dream. SIMPLY PAINTING
An informal, self-directed group that enjoys painting meets on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in the Chicopee Senior Center, 7 Valley View Ct. Participants bring their own supplies and projects. BEADING: THE NEXT STEP

MASSAGE AVAILABLE AT COA
Chair massage by Luba of Ocean's Dream is available at noon on Feb. 11 at the Chicopee Council on Aging, 7 Valley View Ct. Each session is 15 minutes. There is a small fee. Chair massage is administered while the client is clothed and seated in a specially designed chair. Massage is beneficial in reducing stress, increasing circulation, managing blood pressure and helping with depression. To schedule your appointment call the Center at 534-3698.

DEMOCRATIC CAUCUS
Registered Democrats in Chicopee will be hosting a caucus at Chicopee Comprehensive High School on Feb. 9 at 10 a.m. to elect 39 delegates and 18 alternates to the 2008 Massachusetts Democratic Convention. Delegates will be divided equally between men and women. The convention will take place June 7 at the Tsongas Arena in Lowell. At that time, Democrats from across the state will gather to endorse candidates for the office of U.S. Senator. The caucus is open to all registered Democrats in Chicopee. Candidates for delegate and alternate must consent to nomination in writing and must be present at the caucus. All ballots will be written and secret. Those not elected as delegate and/or alternate, who meet the qualifications, may apply to be add-on-delegates in the following categories: youth, minority and disabled. GRANBY
ICE CREAM SOCIAL
The Friends of Granby will sponsor a Valentine Ice Cream Social on Feb. 14 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church hall from 1:30 - 3 p.m. A demonstration of town and local memorabilia will be presented by the Granby Historical Association. SHOW AND CASINO TRIP
The Dow Jones Retiree's Group has scheduled a trip to see "Love, Sex and the IRS" comedy at the Garde Arts Center in New London on Apr. 16, with a stop at Foxwoods Casino, including a free buffet. CHURCH DINNER
The Congregational Church of South Hadley Falls will be hosting a dinner on Feb. 9 at 6 p.m. Menu: sweet and sour soup, spring rolls with duck sauce, pork fried rice, Asian-style chicken wings, beef teriyaki, chilled pineapple with fortune cookies; coffee, tea, milk and juice. SOUTHWICK
ANNUAL TALENT SHOW
The Interact Club at Southwick-Tolland Regional High School will be hosting their annual Talent Show on Feb. 8 and 14 at 6 p.m. in the auditorium. Students from Woodland Elementary School will be performing Feb. 8 and Middle and High School students on Feb. 14. The cost is $4 per person to be paid at the door. All proceeds will be distributed by the club to various local, national and international charities at the end of the school year.

SPRINGFIELD
HUNGRY HILL CENTER EVENTS
The Hungry Hill Center's Valentine Luncheon will be Feb. 12 at noon. Menu: soup, baked chicken, oven roasted potatoes, and dessert. Tickets must be purchased by Feb. 5. Bread, milk, coffee or tea are served at all meals. Reservations can be made by calling the center at 733-9411. Chicopee Visiting Association will have a nurse at the center on Feb. 11 from 9 - 11 a.m. Hemoglobin screening along with blood pressure readings will be offered. This is a free service to area seniors.

FIRST-HOUR FORUM
The public is invited to attend the Unitarian Universalist Society of Greater Springfield's First-Hour Forum from 9 -10 a.m. held before the Sunday service in the balcony room. Forums offer presentation, dialogue and interactive conversation about current events and/or a topic of special interest. Feb. 10: Book Discussion on Peace, Part II, with Becca Bryer. Bryer and the "Peace Class" discuss the book "Speaking Peace in a World of Conflict" by M. Rosenberg; Feb. 24: On Political and Social Satire with Peter Falvey. Falvey performs these satires and has a cartoon column on the Internet. He talks about his works and the history of satire. The church is located at 245 Porter Lake Dr. For info call 736-2324.

PINE POINT COMMUNITY COUNCIL
The next meeting of the Pine Point Community Council will be Feb. 12 at 7 p.m. at 335 Berkshire Ave. An update on 1297 Bay St. will be provided. The meeting is open to all residents of Pine Point and residents are urged to attend to learn more about their neighborhood.

ROTARY SPEAKER
The Springfield Rotary Club announced that Atty. Kathleen A. Townsend, managing partner of The Divorce Mediation Group, will address the Springfield Rotary Club's luncheon meeting on Feb. 8. The subject of her talk will be Divorce Mediation: "The Civil Alternative." The Springfield Rotary Club meets every Friday at 12:15 p.m. in the MassMutual Room at The Basketball Hall of Fame, and is a proud member of Rotary International. NO-KILL ANIMAL SHELTER MEETING
The Animal Shelter Renovation Project Inc. will be having a meeting Feb. 12 at the Moose Lodge, 56 Washington St., at 6:30 p.m. We are asking anyone and everyone interested in becoming a volunteer to help build a No-Kill Regional Animal Shelter to please attend this meeting. We have a Pro-Wrestling Match, an Art Auction and a Kids Fair planned as fundraisers and are looking for help.

WESTFIELD ATHENAEUM
Jacqueline Sears, a local historian and preservationist, is seeking funds to restore the Westfield Athenaeum. To celebrate this magnificent institutions's 140th birthday we ask you to express what the Athenaeum has meant to you. Has it made a difference in your life? WEST SPRINGFIELD
NEW YORK CITY TRIP
The West Springfield Park & Rec. Dept. is sponsoring a bus trip to New York City on April 12. Bus leaves municipal parking lot at 7 a.m. and will have drop offs in New York at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Times Square and Rockefeller Center. Once in NYC you will be on your own to shop or see a show. Bus will leave New York City at 5:30 p.m. with a short dinner stop on the way home. Reservations with payment may be made at the Park & Rec.
