EAST LONGMEADOW
BOOK SALE DONATIONS SOUGHT
Birchland Park Middle School is seeking donations of used books for its annual fundraising used book sale on March 12. Books of all types will be accepted at the school office Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. through the end of February.

SENIOR FRIENDSHIP CLUB
Will be treated to a 1920's flapper program on Feb. 3 at the Pleasant View Senior Center, 328 North Main St. Noon luncheon is spaghetti with meatballs, mixed vegetables, garlic bread and Jello. Call 525-5436 at least a day in advance for reservations.

CHAIR YOGA
Begins Feb. 2 and meets every Wednesday from 3 to 4 p.m. at a cost of $36 for six weeks. Taught by Lyn Hopkins, certified chair yoga instructor. Sign up in Senior Center office minimum 10 people needed to run program.

IDENTITY THEFT, ONLINE BANKING
Presented by Citizens Bank of East Longmeadow, has been re-scheduled for Feb. 8 at 1 p.m. at the Pleasant View Senior Center, 328 North Main St. Learn ways to protect yourself from identity theft and the various methods of banking or bill paying online which are safe and which put you at risk. MARCH DAY TRIPS
The East Longmeadow Senior Center is sponsoring two day trips in March. Payments for both trips are due by Feb. 11. On March 15, travel to the Farmington Marriott for a St. Patrick's celebration including lunch, Irish Step Dancers and the Irish folk duo, Glenshane. Cost is $68. Our third presentation on balance is scheduled for Feb. 14 at 1 p.m. at the Pleasant View Senior Center, 328 North Main St. Sonja Duncan, DPT of Gentiva Health Services will discuss clinical testing to determine the cause of a fall, and how to treat the weaknesses found. Call 525-5436 to register.

SENIOR BOOK CLUB
Meets the last Tuesday of each month at 10:30 a.m. at the Pleasant View Senior Center, 328 North Main St. The selection for February is "Shanghai Girls" by Lisa See. New members welcome.

VETERANS COFFEE HOUR
The Pleasant View Senior Center, 328 North Main St., will host a coffee hour for veterans on Feb. 15 at 9 a.m. We will welcome the women's program manager and visual impairment team coordinator. Women veterans are encouraged to attend.

AARP TAX ASSISTANCE
AARP Tax Aide Counselors will be available for income tax processing for low to moderate income seniors at the Pleasant View Senior Center, 328 North Main St., Mondays through April 11th. Due to space limitations and a shortage of AARP tax preparers we will give priority to East Longmeadow residents. PISTOL SAFETY COURSE
An N.R.A. Basic Pistol Safety Course will be offered at the Holyoke Revolver Club Indoor Range Feb. 19 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. This is a hands on shooting experience teaching the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for owning and using a pistol safely. A National Rifle Association Basic Pistol Course Certificate as well as a State of Massachusetts Certificate will be awarded upon successful completion of the course. CURRAN IRISH NIGHT
The Ancient Order of Hibernians James A. Curran Division One of Hampden-Hampshire Counties will host the sixth annual Daniel P. Curran Irish Night on Feb. 26 at 7 p.m. at The Wherehouse?, Holyoke. Event will feature: corned beef and cabbage dinner, Danny Curran's famous spare ribs. Entertainment will be provided by "Ireland Parish," the McDermott Academy of Irish dance, and members of the Springfield Kilty Band. Tickets are $20 per person. SWINGLES SQUARE DANCE CLUB
The Swingles Square Dance Club will host a class level dance on Feb. 4 with Gene King calling and Beverly MacKay cuing. This will be our Pizza Nite dance. It is not too late. Public health surveillance reports indicate that the flu season has been delayed this year. Make an appointment with Pat Barkman, R.N., Community Health Nurse (565-4154). Her office is in the Health Room at the Longmeadow Adult Center. Bring any insurance cards with you at the time of appointment as there is no out-pocket charge for Medicare B subscribers.

TEEN CENTER
Youths in grades six through eight and their same aged guests are welcome to come and enjoy a "supervised evening out" on Feb. 4 and 18 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Greenwood Center. WILBRAHAM
ORIENTATION PROGRAM
An eighth grade orientation program for parents of eighth grade students will be held on Feb. 9 at 7 p.m. in the Minnechaug Regional High School auditorium. Students may attend if they wish. Principal Hale will welcome everyone and explain the evening's agenda. Mrs. Lewis, guidance director, will speak about graduation requirements and the course selection process. Parents will then go to the large cafeteria where, in an open forum, they will have the opportunity to speak directly with all the department chairs. In the forum, they may also review course curricula, instructional materials, and samples of students' work. In the event that this is cancelled due to snow, it will be held the following day, Feb.10, same time and location.

WILBRAHAM GARDEN CLUB
Begins their yearly meetings Feb. 3 at The Gardens of Wilbraham with a light luncheon beginning at noon followed by speaker Rich Levine, an ICPE certified paver and owner of Vision Landscaping. He will explain different methods of designing and installing a garden pathway using natural stone and paving.
