EAST LONGMEADOW
LUNCH & LEARN PROGRAM
The Pleasant View Senior Center, 328 North Main St., will welcome Nancy Wasco from the Post Office on July 16 at 11:30 a.m., who will speak about mail forwarding, mail service rates, and other services the Post Office offers residents. Bring a lunch or make a reservation a day in advance for our congregate meal.

SENIOR FRIENDSHIP CLUB
Join us for BINGO at our annual Ice Cream Social on July 17 at the Pleasant View Senior Center, 328 North Main St. Luncheon is spaghetti w/meatballs, zucchini, garlic bread and Jello. Call 525-5436 at least one day in advance for noon lunch reservations.

SWAROVSKI CRYSTAL JEWELRY CLASS
Sandy Merrill will host a special jewelry class using Swarovski Crystals at the Pleasant View Senior Center on July 23 from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. Sign up in the Senior Center office, $5 deposit required. Class size is limited to 20 people.

MEALS ON WHEELS DRIVERS NEEDED
Would you be willing to commit a few hours a week to make a difference in a senior's day? We are in need of drivers to assist with our Meals on Wheels program, either on a regular basis or on a fill-in basis, specifically on Mondays and/or Tuesdays. Although this is considered a volunteer position, drivers are paid a daily stipend and will need to pass a background check. Stop by the Senior Center office from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. to learn more about the position and to pick up the paperwork.

SOCCER DEADLINE REMINDER
The E.L. Rec. Dept.'s intown soccer program reminds parents that the deadline to register your child for the fall program is Aug. 8 by 4 p.m. Those entering grades K - 8 are eligible to play. New this fall is a H.S. program for those in grades 9 - 12. To register, come into Office weekdays, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. or call 525-5437 for more info.

The E.L. Rec. LUNCHEON AND CRUISE

ARTISTS WANTED

LETTERBOX FINDING AND HIKING

Letterboxing is an outdoor hunt for stamps (non-GPS) hidden in locations all around us. Yet another fun reason to head out into nature!This hike will start with a 15-min. introduction to letterboxing (handout will be provided). The event is open to the public, outdoors, and free.

GREAT AWAKENING TENT REVIVAL
The Apostolic Church of Enfield is hosting the Great Awakening Tent Revival for three days: July 18 at 7 p.m. with puppets, music and more; July 19 at 7 p.m. a wonderful songfest from many talented musicians; July 20 at 10 a.m. children's event including special singing, skits, prizes and balloons. TEEN DRUMMING WORKSHOP
Teens ages 12 and up can learn the basics of hand percussion, conga, Latin and Afro-Caribbean beats through this hands on workshop led by local DJ and host of Afrobeats, Brandon Marger. No drumming experience is necessary. Drums will be provided but bring your own if you have one. The workshop will take place July 25 at 2 p.m. outside of Hubbard Library (inside if raining). AGING EYES
Join us at the Hampden Senior Center, 104 Allen St., on July 18 at 12:15 p.m. as we welcome Richard Godfrey, patient liaison at Schepens Eye Research Institute. Godfrey was diagnosed with macular degeneration in 1985 and was declared legally blind in 1988. He will provide info on eye diseases, research, physician referrals and the many issues associated with living with low vision. Sign up in advance for this important seminar.

DIRECTOR OF SPRINGFIELD HISTORY MUSEUM TO SPEAK
Guy McLain, director of the Springfield History Museum, will address the Springfield Rotary Club's luncheon on July 18. McLain will talk about "The Future of History: Telling the Story of Springfield's Innovative Past." Debi Willoughby will be at the Wilbraham Public Library to entertain children ages 4 and up on July 15 at 10 a.m. with Jungle Encounters. The audience will learn about animals surviving in the wild, which animals make good pets and which don't, why it is so important to conserve their habitats and much more. Cover to Cover, the book discussion group for students, is on going, meeting once a month. Students in grades 4 - 6 meet Tuesdays from 7 - 8 p.m. next on Aug. 12. SUMMER CONCERT SERIES
