AGAWAM
TEEN SUMMER READING PROGRAM
Teens entering grades seven - 12 are invited to join the Agawam Library Teen Summer Reading Program on July 2 for Tie Dye & Favorite Board Games from 6:30 - 8 p.m. Bring a T-shirt, socks anything to tie dye. BLUE SOX BASEBALL TRIP
The Friends of the Senior Center will be taking folks to the July 6 Holyoke Blue Sox baseball game vs. Team USA at MacKenzie Stadium. Bus will leave from the Senior Center, 954 Main St., at 5:30 p.m. for the 6:30 p.m. start. Cost: $6. To buy tickets and make reservations for the bus trip call Emile Cot at 335-9440

SOLAR ENERGY WORKSHOP
Could solar energy work for you? SCRAPBOOKING FUN
Scrapbooking Fun, the next event in Agawam Public Library Summer Reading Program for those in grades five and six will take place July 2 from 5 - 6:30 p.m. Bring in 4 - 8 photos and learn how to create a memory page. Supplies will be provided. Registration is required at www.readsinma.org/agawam.

COOKING WITH KATIE
Cooking with Katie, an event in the Agawam Public Library Summer Reading Program for those in grades five and six will take place July 9 from 4:30 - 6 p.m. Hands-on cooking: make parmesan pita triangles, yogurt fruit shakes, pizza wontons, and enjoy sampling creations. STARRY STORYTIMES
Join the Agawam Public Library Summer Reading Program's Starry Storytimes each Tuesday from July 7 - Aug. 11 at 6 p.m. This program for ages three and up will include a fun family storytime, music and a simple craft. Registration is required. To register: www.readsinma.org/agawam.

SUMMER CONCERT SERIES
The free Summer Concert Series will kick off on July 8 with Cory and the Knightsmen classic rock band; followed by Doug Ratner and Cool Shoes on June 15. All concerts are at 7 p.m. on Veteran's Green, 689 Main St. If raining, the event will be in the Agawam High School Aud, 760 Cooper St. Changes of location will be announced on the Parks & Rec. KIDSFEST PERFORMANCES
The Park & Rec. Dept.'s KidsFest will kick off on July 15 with a unique magic show by Scott Jameson. All events will be at 11 a.m. on Veteran's Green, 689 Main St. Songwriter Les Julian will perform on July 29; followed by The Airborne Comedians on Aug. 12. SPACE JINGO
The next event in the Agawam Public Library's Summer Reading Program is Space Jingo on July 6 for ages six - 12 at 2:30 p.m. Have fun learning facts and trivia about the solar system and space exploration. Registration is required. To register: www.readsinma.org/agawam.

JUNGLE ENCOUNTERS
Agawam Public Library's Summer Reading Program will continue with Jungle Encounters, an interactive show using animals from around the world will take place July 8 at 6:30 p.m. This program is for ages three and older. Registration is required. To register: www.readsinma.org/agawam.

CHICOPEE
CHOLESTEROL TESTING
Keeping track of your cholesterol is important and to help you do this, on July 8 from 9 a.m. - noon, there will be a cholesterol screening done at the Chicopee Senior Center, 7 Valley View Ct. The screening does not require fasting and will provide total cholesterol results. Individuals are taken on a first-come basis and a donation of $5 is appreciated. To register, call 534-3698.

TASTE OF ITALY
Enjoy a Taste of Italy with the Chicopee Senior Travel Club on Oct. 20. We will be seeing the world's greatest accordionist, Dick Contino, at the Holiday Inn in Boxboro, Mass. GREATER SPRINGFIELD
BOSTON TRIP
St. Mary's Church, 840 Page Blvd., East Springfield, is sponsoring a bus trip to Boston on July 19. Bus leaves St. Mary's at 10 a.m. and returns approx. 6:30 p.m. Drop off point is Quincy Market. EDUCATE MALAWI FUNDRAISER
The founders of Educate Malawi have returned from Malawi and have some African wares to sell! Come visit the non-profit on July 4 from 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. at the Monson Summerfest celebration in Monson. They have beautiful African fabric, jewelry and paintings. As always, 100 percent of proceeds goes directly to the Namitsitsi primary school building project.

HOLYOKE
EVENING GARDEN TALK
Evening Garden Talk at Wistariahurst Museum on July 8 at 6:30 p.m. Cost: $5 donation.

HOLIDAY CLOSING
Wistariahurst will be closed for house tours on July 4 in observance of Independence Day. The museum will reopen July 5 from noon - 4 p.m. We invite you to join us for upcoming concerts, lectures and programs; visit www.wistariahurst.org. Wistariahurst Museum will resume regular hours again on the following Mondays, Saturdays and Sundays through July from noon - 4 p.m.

PLANT SWAP
On July 1 at 6:30 p.m. bring a $2 donation and any type of label plant or plants, along with your own chair, and let the fun begin. Plant swaps are presented by Wistariahurst Museum Gardeners and Western Mass Master Gardeners and will be on the grounds of Wistariahurst on July 1 and 15 and Aug. 5 and 19, all starting at 6:30 p.m. The gardens and landscape tell an important part of the historical and cultural story at Wistariahurst. BOTTLE AND CAN DRIVE
The Springfield Lady Titans U14 girls fastpitch softball team has earned a berth to the Girls U14 National Fastpitch Softball Tournament in Cary, N.C., to represent Springfield and surrounding communities. To help defray travel expenses for the girls the Titans will host a tag sale along with a bottle and can drive on July 11 at Beaulieu and Sons Home Improvement at 217 Grattan St., Chicopee. The Swingles Square Dance Club will host a mainstream dance on July 3 (Uncle Sam's Sally). They will host a plus dance on July 11 and a mainstream dance on July 17 (Sail Away Dance).
