AGAWAM
"A TOUCH OF JAZZ"
Enjoy "A Touch of Jazz" with Vin Cassotta at the Agawam Public Library. Bring a bagged lunch and listen to some jazz. The concert is a Louis Armstrong tribute scheduled for Aug. 4 from 12:30 to 1:30 pm., in the Community Room. No registration is t needed.

BOOK READING
The Adult Summer Reading Program at the Agawam Public Library is hosting a reading with Joanne Connors-Wade, author of "The Manuscript" in the Community Room on Aug. 5 at 7 p.m. A selection from the book will be read, with time for questions. BOTTLE AND CAN DRIVE
The Friends of the Agawam Senior Center is having a deposit Bottle and Can Drive on Aug. 2 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Agawam Senior Center, 68 Meadowbrook Manor. Friends' members will help empty your vehicle. All donations will go towards the Friends Expansion Fund.

FOXWOOD TRIP
A trip to Foxwood, Aug. 13, leaves from American Legion, Exchange St. at 7:15 a.m. Cost is $20 and includes free buffet and $15 Keno play. For more info, call Dot at 788-6835. Best time to call is between 4 and 5 p.m.

OCTOBERFEST

FOXWOOD SHOW TRIP
Recently voted one of the top acts in the finals of NBC's "America's Got Talent," Celtic Spring's awsome performances feature a rich variety of music and dance from Celtic lands. Join the Chicopee Senior Travel Club on Sept. 23 going first to Foxwood where you can try your luck and have their buffet, then travel to the Garde Arts Center for the show. "TASTE OF GERMANY" TRIP TO N.Y.
Join the Aldenville Seniors of St. Rose de Lima on Oct. 2 as they journey to Round Top, NY for a "Taste of Germany." A local guide will meet us as we travel to Blackhead Mountain Lodge for a "spaetzle" making demonstration followed by lunch; there will be 3 choices. MEN'S GROUP MEETING
There is a Men's Group that meets monthly at the Chicopee Senior Center. The Group meets on the fourth Monday of the month at 10 a.m. This Group is designed for men who are looking to be part of a large circle of their peers. The Group discusses a variety of topics each month and will be open to topics that a member of the Group may wish to discuss. The next meeting will be on Mon., July 28. SENIOR VOLUNTEERS
Two programs are being offered by the Senior Companion Program/Valley Opportunity Council, 35 Mt. Carmel Ave. Senior Companions are needed for the Chicopee area only to share time with elders. Applicants must be 60 years of age or older, meet income guidelines and have a willingness to share their time with other elders in their own area. HOLYOKE
THE MAKING OF A BOOK
An exhibition of the art works created by Holyoke Community College students and faculty that are featured in the new book "Art from Intuition" written by HCC professor Dean Nimmer will be held from July 28 to Sept. 11. There will be an opening reception and lecture on Sept. 10 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Taber Art Gallery, HCC.

PARKINSON'S SUPPORT GROUP

Rotary Club luncheon
Kristin Brennan, director of Gardening the Community, will address the Springfield Rotary Club's luncheon meeting on July 25. Brennan will discuss organic gardening, alternative transportation and building community in Springfield. The Springfield Rotary Club meets every Friday at 12:15 p.m. in the Mass Mutual Room at the Basketball Hall of Fame. The luncheon with Brennan is $17 per person and is open to the public. The workshop is scheduled for Aug. 2. End your summer at this intensive training opportunity for all levels. We celebrate one of the greatest jazz dancers with special classes. An Herb Evening - "A Scent-sational Event" will take place on July 30 at 6:30 p.m. with florist, Susan Peterson at Pepperberry's in Westfield. Along with guest master gardeners Chris Brown and Judy Anderson, Susan will present a program in which you can learn how to identify, cultivate, harvest, and preserve herbs and their many other uses.
