Town Events, March 5 - March 12From the Chicopee Herald, the Metro West Reminder and the Springfield Reminder AGAWAM flow circus On March 8 at 11 a.m. Flow Circus will entertain all ages at the Agawam Public Library. This vaudeville style show incorporates juggling, magic, physical comedy and improvisation. This is a highly interactive show and is sure to keep audiences engaged from beginning to end. All programs at the library are free, but registration is required and may be done in person or by calling the library at 789-1550 ext. 4.
Mohegan Sun Bus Trip The Agawam Gators Baseball Team will host a bus trip to Mohegan Sun on March 16. The bus will leave Agawam at 1 p.m. and return at 10 p.m. Cost includes food voucher and free bets. For more info please call 209-8420. This fundraiser will help the team in their efforts to play in the Cooperstown Field of Dreams Tournament this August.
SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY The Agawam Lions Club is seeking applicants for the six $1,500 scholarships which will be awarded to deserving Agawam seniors who want to further their studies in pursuit of their chosen careers. Applications will be available at the March 5 scholarship fair being held at the Agawam High School, from the guidance office or from Donald Sorel at 786-1667 after March 8. Completed entry forms are to be submitted to Sorel, Lions Scholarship Committee chairman, at 23 Edgewood Ln, Agawam 01001. No applications will be accepted after April 10.
CORNED BEEF & CABBAGE DINNER The Friends of the Agawam Senior Center will host a corned beef and cabbage dinner with shamrock cake on March 7 at 5:30 p.m. Entertainment will be provided by the Good Acoustics Mike Smith, Bill Desanty and Dave Fazio. The Irish Colleens will be in attendance as our special guests. Donations are $15. The cost is $5 for children under 10 years old. All donations will do to the Friends of the Agawam Senior Center Expansion fund.

GARDEN CLUB MEETING The Agawam Garden Club's first meeting of the 2008 season will be on March 11 at 7 p.m. in the Blue Bird Community Room at Pheasant Hill Village, 25 Pheasant Hill Dr., Feeding Hills. Professor Barbara Schaedler, chair of the Landscape Design and Management Technology Program at STCC, will lead a workshop titled "Color Theory in the Garden."
FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY MEETING The monthly meeting of The Friends of the Agawam Public Library will take place on March 6 in the Community Room at the Agawam Public Library at 7 p.m. We will be making plans for our spring book sale and for other fundraisers for this year. CULTURAL COUNCIL MEETING The Agawam Cultural Council is meeting on March 11 at 7 p.m. at the Agawam Public Library, 750 Cooper St. The meeting is open to the public. BERMUDA CRUISE The Agawam Golden Agers, Chapter Two is hosting a cruise aboard The Norwegian Dawn Oct. 5 - 12. CHICOPEE EASTER EGG HUNT Under the sponsorship of Chicopee Council 62 Polish National Alliance, all members and friends are urged to attend the annual Easter Egg Hunt at the Pulaski Club grounds, 13 Norman St., Willimansett. The excitement and egg hunt will take place March 15 at noon. Children are asked to register at the Pulaski Club by 11:30 a.m.
LIVING AGAIN The grief process to the death of a love one varies depending on individual circumstances. There are many emotions to deal with and learning how to cope with all that has happened can be very difficult. Support groups can provide you with ways to cope with your grieving and the needed support of others. CHOLESTEROL TESTING Keeping track of your cholesterol is important and to help you do this, on March 12 from 9 am. - noon, there will be a cholesterol screening done at the Chicopee Senior Center, 7 Valley View Ct. The screening does not require fasting and will provide total cholesterol results. Individuals are taken on a first-come basis and a donation of $5 is appreciated. To register call 534-3698.
DIABETES SUPPORT GROUP Keeping your blood sugar in control will help you in many ways. Coming to a support group can help you to manage your diabetes by offering support, information, counseling and encouragement. A support group meets monthly at the Chicopee Council on Aging. The next meeting will be March 10 at 1:30 p.m. at the Chicopee Senior Center, 7 Valley View Ct. Diane Weston, R.N. will provide information on ways to manage your diabetes, help you with your diet plan, provide instruction on the use of a glucometer, information on research and new developments and answer questions you may have. GRANBY TAROGRAPH NIGHT Tarograph is the science of handwriting analysis blended with tarot. The evening will include info on tarograph, Q & A and a few samples of handwriting analysis. TREASURE HUNT AT HUBBARD LIBRARY On March 11 get ready for St. Patrick's Day with a fun treasure hunt. Follow clues that will lead to secret places in the library and ultimately to yummy, golden treasures. Children can stop by anytime from 6:30 - 7:45 p.m. to partake in this holiday activity. NARFE MEETING The National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE), Chapter 221, will meet on March 7, downstairs in Vincent Hall, Trinity United Methodist Church, 361 Sumner Ave., Springfield. PIONEER VALLEY WAVES All area women veterans are invited to join the Pioneer Valley Waves who will be meeting on March 15 at the American Legion Post 438, 292 New Ludlow Rd., Chicopee at 10:30 a.m. A luncheon featuring corned beef and cabbage will precede the guest speaker, Sandy Wakefield, executive director of the Pioneer Valley USO. HOLYOKE AN AFTERNOON FOR WOMEN District 4 Clubs of Quota, International will present "An Afternoon For Women" on March 15, 1 - 4 p.m. at the Delaney House Restaurant, Rte. 5. Proceeds will benefit Quota activities with the deaf and hard of hearing community. SOUTH HADLEY FUNDRAISER FOR CHURCH The Congregational Church of South Hadley Falls will be hosting a dinner on March 8 at 6 p.m. to raise funds for the installation of our new organ. The menu will consist of boneless turkey breast, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green beans, cranberry sauce, homemade apple pie with cheddar cheese, coffee, tea, milk and juice. SOUTHWICK EASTER BUNNY BREAKFAST "Breakfast and photos with the Easter Bunny" will be sponsored by the Southwick Lions Club and the Southwick Rec. Center on March 16 from 8 a.m. - noon at the Rec.
