EAST LONGMEADOW
PANCAKE BREAKFAST
A deluxe pancake breakfast fundraiser will take place May 17 from 8 a.m. - noon at the Meadows Masonic Lodge, 43 Chestnut St. Adults: $5, children under 10, $3.

TAG SALE
The E.L. United Methodist Church is having a tag sale May 16 from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. The church is located at 215 Somers Rd. and the tag sale is rain or shine.

FALL P.V. SOCCER REGISTRATIONS
The E.L. Rec. Dept. is beginning fall P.V. soccer registrations in the office, Mon. - Fri., 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. At time of registering bring a 1x1 picture for the pass. Deadline to register is June 11. Tryouts will take place June 13 (rain date, June 14). Everyone who wishes to play for the 2009-10 season must tryout no exceptions.

INTOWN SOCCER REGISTRATIONS
The E.L. Rec. Dept. is beginning intown fall soccer registrations for those entering K - 8 grades in fall 2009. A new co-ed 9 - 12 grades program will also be offered. Deadline to register is Aug. 7. Come into the Rec. Dept., 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., Mon. - Fri. to register.

FALL SUBURBAN FOOTBALL
The E.L. Rec. Dept. is registering for the fall suburban football league for E.L. residents (those in E.L. METCO program for two years are eligible). Those entering grades 3 - 8 in fall 2009 can participate. Deadline to register is July 17. Come into the Office 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., Mon. - Fri.

YOUTH FIELD HOCKEY
The E.L. Rec. Dept. is registering for youth field hockey those entering grades 3 - 8 in fall 2009. Deadline to register is July 2. SUMMER ACTIVITIES
The E.L. Rec. Dept. is in the process of registering for a host of summer programs which will take place June 22 - August. Go to www.eastlongmeadowma.gov to view the summer/fall program brochure. Flyers are available in the Rec. Dept. Office, daily 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Call the Office at 525-5437.

SENIOR FRIENDSHIP CLUB
The E.L. Senior Friendship Club will host "Trivia Finals" on May 14 following lunch at the Pleasant View Senior Center. Noon luncheon is veal patty w/mushroom gravy, baked sweet potato, four-way blended vegetables and peaches. Call 525-5436 at least one day in advance for reservations.

"NO SENIORS LEFT INSIDE"
The E.L. Council on Aging will host this first time event on May 13 from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Pleasant View Senior Center, 328 North Main St., for the purpose of promoting healthy and active aging. Call the Senior Center at 525-5436 to reserve your boxed lunch of apple juice, turkey sandwich w/lettuce, tomato, chips and fresh fruit ($2).

FREE LEGAL CONSULTATION
Atty. Dave Carlson will be offering free legal advice by appt., in half hour increments, on May 19 from 1 - 4 p.m. at the Pleasant View Senior Center. Call the Senior Center office for your appt., 525-5436.

COMMODITIES DISTRIBUTION
Commodities will be distributed to E.L. residents on May 20 from 1 - 3 p.m. at the Pleasant View Senior Center, 328 North Main St. If you have not already done so, come fill out paperwork in the office and pick up your ticket. No commodities will be given without a ticket, and paperwork must be completed prior to May 20.

BOOK CLUB
The next meeting of the Book Club will be on May 26 at 10:30 a.m. at the Pleasant View Senior Center, 328 North Main St. The book for May's meeting is "Nineteen Minutes" by Jodi Picoult. The Book Club welcomes new members anytime.

RAIL & SAIL
The E.L. Council on Aging is sponsoring a two-day trip to the Adirondack Mountains and Vermont White Mountains on Aug. 18 and 19. Taking reservations now call Sandy at the Senior Center for details, 525-5436. Don't miss out on this exciting adventure!

LEARN TO PLAY MAH JONGG
If you are interested in learning how to play Mah Jongg, stop by the Pleasant View Senior Center, 328 North Main St., any Tuesday at 1 p.m. and the players will teach you how.

JAZZ SOCIAL AND SILENT AUCTION
Pioneer Valley Montessori School is sponsoring a Jazz Social and Silent Auction on May 17 from 1 - 4 p.m. at 89 Maple St. The silent auction will benefit the Playground Fund of Pioneer Valley Montessori School. Refreshments will be served and entertainment throughout the event provided by a jazz pianist. Cost is $10 p/p.

FREE CAR WASH
On May 16, there will be a free senior car wash from 10 a.m. - noon at Bluebird Estates, 1 Apple Blossom Lane. Enjoy coffee and donuts while your car is being washed. Receive a complimentary meal ticket to be used a later date. Rain date: May 23.

NEW YORK CITY BUS TRIP
The Dow Jones Retirees Group has scheduled a trip to New York City on June 27. Pick up and drop off at the Plantation Inn parking lot in Chicopee and Bob's Store commuter lot in Enfield, Conn. TOBACCO VALLEY ARTISTS ASSOC.
The May meeting of the Tobacco Valley Artists Assoc. will take place May 20 at 7 p.m. at the Somers Senior Center, 19 Battle St., Somers, Conn. Meeting will feature West Hartford printmaker Martha Galuszka with a demo of printmaking, an informative lecture with examples of her work and the tools used to produce it. GOLF CLASSIC
The Monsignor Devine Golf Classic, sponsored by St. Mary's Academy, will take place June 6 at the Hampden Country Club. NEIGHBORHOOD COUNCIL MEETING
Hungry Hill Neighborhood Council meeting May 21 at 7 p.m. Representatives from the Springfield Police and Mayor Sarno's Quality of Life liaison are at this meeting to hear residents' concerns, etc. Refreshments will be served. COME DANCE THE NIGHT AWAY
The Springfield Dept. of Elder Affairs will host a Ballroom Dance at Greenleaf Community Center, 1187 1/2 Parker St., on May 21 from 6 - 9 p.m. with music by Richie Mitnick. (The Community Center is located behind the 16 Acres Library.) Dances are only $5 per person. Refreshments will served. PIONEER VALLEY WAVES
Women veterans of the Connecticut Valley are invited to join the members of the Pioneer Valley WAVES for their May meeting, May 23. The group will meet at the American Legion Post 438, 292 New Ludlow Rd., Chicopee, at 10 a.m. for a social hour followed by the business meeting. Plans for the WAVES Convention will be discussed as well as suggestions for the celebration of the group's 20th anniversary, which will be observed in November. Lunch will be served after the meeting. GAY CHORUS PERFORMANCE
The Pioneer Valley Gay Men's Chorus will sing at 10 a.m. worship at South Congregational Church, 45 Maple St., on May 17 as part of the church's 9th anniversary of voting to become an open and affirming congregation to the GLBT community. The Wilbraham Women's Club Choral Group will present a concert at Wingate of East Longmeadow, 32 Chestnut St., on May 15 at 2 p.m. On May 20 at 12:45 p.m. they will sing at the Scantic Senior Citizen Club, Hampden Senior Center, 104 Allen St.

FURRY FRIENDS IN NEED DRIVE
Wilbraham Junior Girl Scout Troop 20160 is working on their Bronze Award. They will be collecting animal care supplies to donate to the Hersman H.E.A.R.T. Fund and Thomas J. O'Connor Adoption Center. Many of the items in need are teddy bears/stuffed animals (new and gently used), canned dog and cat food, peanut butter, rawhide chews, dog biscuits, kitty treats, nail clippers, leashes and collars, slip leads, elastic cat collars, Kong toys or other heavy duty toys, bedding (blankets, comforters, sheets, towels) and much more. Donate May 16 from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the Wilbraham United Church.

TEEN ART SHOW
The Wilbraham Public Library is hosting a Teen Art Show! Artwork by local teen artists will be on display in the library's Brooks Room during the month of June. Teen artists may bring their pieces to the library until May 27. Frame or mount anything that should be hung. Attention musicians! Donate your talent to a good cause by performing at a Music Night Fundraiser at the Wilbraham Public Library on May 29 at 7 p.m. All proceeds will support teen programs at the library, such as college prep workshops, crafting and gaming programs, the Anime Club and the Teen Advisory Board.
