TRIP TO THIMBLE ISLANDS
The St. Michael's Young at Heart Club is sponsoring a trip to the Thimble Islands on July 21. Cost includes bus, lunch at the Chowder Pot III and a boat cruise through the islands. AMERICAN LEGION DINNER
The American Legion will host a dinner dedicated in memory of Edward Kopek Sr. (1951-2010) on May 27 from 6 - 7 p.m. at 3 Legion Ct. Menu: stuffed pork chop, rice pilaf, mixed vegetables, garden salad, rolls and butter, soda and coffee with cookies and brownies for dessert. Other drinks available at bar at extra cost. SENIOR FRIENDSHIP CLUB

SUMMER CAMP PROGRAMS
The E.L. Rec. Dept. is taking registrations for Pine Knoll summer program running June 28 - Aug. 13 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. for children ages 4 - grade 8. PIONEER VALLEY FALL SOCCER
The E.L. Rec. Dept. is taking registrations for the Pioneer Valley Fall soccer program. Those born Aug. 1, 1996 - Aug. 1, 2001 are eligible to try out. Final registration is June 16 by 4 p.m. (after that date, late fee applies). Try outs will be June 19 at Birchland Park Middle School participant must be registered. PINE KNOLL FAMILY MEMBERSHIPS
The E.L. Rec. Dept. is accepting applications for family and individual memberships at Pine Knoll Recreation Area. Facilities open 9 a.m. - 7 p.m., Mon. - Fri., 11 a.m. - 7p.m. Sat./Sun. ATWOOD ART SHOW
Harriet Atwood of Longmeadow is having a solo art show of paintings at the Kent Memorial Library's Pluney Gallery, Suffield, Conn. Reception: June 3 from 6 - 8 p.m. The paintings will hang in the gallery from June 1 - 28 and can also be seen during library hours. The Kent Memorial Library is at the corner of Main Street and Bridge Street, Suffield (Routes 75 and 513). Parking is behind the library, off Bridge Street.

NORDIC WALKING CLASSES
At the Adult Center Tues., June 1 - 22, 10 - 11 a.m. Learn the basic use of Nordic Walking Poles and enjoy the many health benefits that Nordic walking offers. Equipment provided by the instructor for use during class. Wear suitable clothing and comfortable footwear. There is a fee. Register by calling 565-4150 or stopping by the Center, 231 Maple Rd.

BOOK CLUB
Meets at the Adult Center, 231 Maple Rd., June 1 at 1 p.m. Selection to be discussed is "Three Cups of Tea" by Greg Mortenson. For the July 6 meeting, the book will be "The Hotel at the Corner of Bitter and Sweet" by James Ford. New members are welcome!

VETERANS' GROUP

RED SOX VS. INDIANS
Enjoy the Boston Red Sox against the Cleveland Indians on Aug. 2 at Fenway Park. Game time is 7:05 p.m. Seats are located in First Base Grandstand, Section 15, Row 14 and Right Field Box 94. Sit back and enjoy a narrated cruise on the Charles River. Tour historic Boston Harbor see the site of the Old North Church, USS Constitution, the Bunker Hill Monument and more. OPEN PANTRY FOOD DRIVE
King Ward Coach Lines is conducting a food drive for the Open Pantry of Springfield. For each non-perishable item presented, King Ward is offering $5 off their daily service to Mohegan Sun Casino. ANTI-BULLYING FUNDRAISER
The students of "Bullying Hurts Everyone," a community research project at Springfield College's School of Human Services, will sponsor a Bowl-a-Thon to implement anti-bullying programs in our schools. TASTE OF DUGGAN AND MORE
Duggan Middle School will host their 10th annual "Taste of Duggan and More" on June 5 from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Community and health services will be available to the public as well as a blood mobile. The Zonta Club of Springfield will be on hand to offer assistance this year as well. Other hightlights will include pony and train rides, face painting, clowns, a food court and an array of other booths as well.

"ITALIANO PER RAGAZZI"
The Italian Cultural Center, 56 Margaret St., will sponsor "Italiano per Ragazzi," a four-week course for children ages 6 - 12, on Sat. from June 5 - 26. The class will meet from 9 - 10 a.m. and will be free of charge. Early registration is suggested as class size will be limited. For more info, call the center at 784-1492.

ATHENEUM QUILT SHOW
The Atheneum Society of Wilbraham will host its fifth annual Quilt Show on June 6 from 2 - 4 p.m. in the Old Meeting House, 450 Main St. See quilts and other crafts made by local artists as well as a weaving demo by Jo Miner; floral arrangements will be available for purchase too.
