BEHAVIOR MANAGEMENT SEMINAR
Healthcare professionals are invited to learn more about "Behavioral Incident Prevention and Management: A Practical Guideline for Geriatric Care" at 8 a.m. on Dec. 3 at the Atrium at Cardinal Drive, 153 Cardinal Dr. Breakfast will be served at 8 a.m. followed by the workshop at 8:30 a.m. David B. Lennox, PhD, will lead the discussion. Lennox has developed, directed and consulted in programs treating children and adults in a variety of settings. He has managed services for individuals with a range of rehab and behavioral needs resulting from Alzheimer's, head injury, development disability, autism, psychiatric disorders and a number of neurological disorders. The free program is approved for 2.0 contact hours for nurses and 1.5 contact hours for social workers. Seating is limited, so RSVP by calling 821-9911.

Hearing services are available on Dec. 5 starting at 1 p.m. in the Chicopee Senior Center, 7 Valley View Ct. A training audiologist provides a hearing evaluation, hearing aid check and cleaning. Appointments may be made by calling 534-3698.
CENTER OFFERS LIBRARY SERVICES
A Chicopee Public Librarian is available on Mondays from 9 - 11:30 a.m. to assist patrons with returning and checking out books and other library materials. There is also a book drop located inside the center for library patrons to return their books during the center's normal hours, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., Monday - Friday. FUEL ASSISTANCE
The guidelines to qualify for fuel assistance have been increased. Now , a single person can earn up to $27,876 and qualify. A two-person household income is now $36,454. The St. Patrick's Parade Committee of Holyoke has raffle tickets available for a trip to Ireland for six people. Homework House Tutoring program is running a "Raise The Roof" raffle to help fix its roof. Proceeds from the raffle will go to match a Peabody Foundation challenge grant. BUS TRIP TO WASHINGTON, D.C.
There will be a bus trip and two night accomodations at Mount Vernon Hotel in Baltimore, Jan. 19 - 21. The bus will transport the group to Washington, D.C. for the Presidential Inauguration. GERMAN PROTESTANT KIRCHENTAG
Members of Grace Lutheran Church will participate in the 32nd German Protestant Kirchentag in Breman, Germany, from May 20 - 24, 2009. Cost of the event is minimal if you take advantage of being paired with a host family who will provide bed and breakfast. Tickets to the event include all public transportation for the entire week. OPENING SANTA'S HOUSE
The 28th Annual opening of Santa's House, located at the Route 20 entrance to Mittineague Park, will take place on Dec. 7 at 2 p.m. Santa will arrive accompanied by police and fire escort and will greet visitors until 4 p.m. and then again from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. The event is free of charge.

On Dec. 6 at 2 p.m. at the West Springfield High School Auditorium, the fun continues "Under the Christmas Tree" as Rick Adam performs his entertaining vaudeville act, highlighted with songs and stories of snow, sledding, winter and the holiday season. PANCAKE BREAKFAST FUNDRAISER
The West Springfield Lions Club will host a pancake breakfast fundraiser to benefit the Operation Santa Program on Dec. 7 from 8 a.m. - noon at the Senior Center, 128 Park St. Santa Claus will be making a special appearance prior to officially opening Santa's House in Mittineague Park.
