SIT & KNIT
The Agawam Public Library will be hosting Sit & Knit on Tuesdays from 1 - 3 p.m. throughout December. Knitting instructor Annie Foley will be at the library on Dec. 2 to help with projects and answer questions. No registration is needed for this weekly program.

COMEDY NIGHT
The Agawam Lions Club will host their next fundraiser, the 5th Annual Comedy Night, on March 15 at the Oaks Banquet Hall at 7 p.m. Three new comics will be appearing: Paul D'angelo, Artie Januario and Myq Kaplan. JAZZ UP YOUR CHRISTMAS
Jazz up your Christmas with Vin Cassotta on Dec. 15 at 7 p.m. at the Agawam Public Library. Cassotta is returning by popular demand. BEHAVIOR MANAGEMENT SEMINAR
Healthcare professionals are invited to learn more about "Behavioral Incident Prevention and Management: A Practical Guideline for Geriatric Care" at 8 a.m. on Dec. 3 at the Atrium at Cardinal Drive, 153 Cardinal Dr. Breakfast will be served at 8 a.m. followed by the workshop at 8:30 a.m. David B. Lennox, PhD, will lead the discussion. Lennox has developed, directed and consulted in programs treating children and adults in a variety of settings. He has managed services for individuals with a range of rehab and behavioral needs resulting from Alzheimer's, head injury, development disability, autism, psychiatric disorders and a number of neurological disorders. The free program is approved for 2.0 contact hours for nurses and 1.5 contact hours for social workers. Seating is limited, so RSVP by calling 821-9911.

CHICOPEE
HEARING SERVICE
Hearing services are available on Dec. 5 starting at 1 p.m. in the Chicopee Senior Center, 7 Valley View Ct. A training audiologist provides a hearing evaluation, hearing aid check and cleaning. Appointments may be made by calling 534-3698.

CENTER OFFERS LIBRARY SERVICES
A Chicopee Public Librarian is available on Mondays from 9 - 11:30 a.m. to assist patrons with returning and checking out books and other library materials. There is also a book drop located inside the center for library patrons to return their books during the center's normal hours, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., Monday - Friday. The center is located at 7 Valley View Ct. For more info call 534-3698.

LIVING AGAIN CANCELLED
There will not be a Living Again Support Group meeting in December. The group will meet on its regular day and time in January 2009. For more info contact the Chicopee Senior Center at 534-3698.

CRAFT FAIR AND BAZAAR
Assumption Parish Christmas Craft Fair and Bazaar, Nov. 29, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. and Nov. 30, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., at Assumption Parish Hall, 104 Springfield St., with handicapped ramp access at 11 Chapman St. Fair includes crafters and vendors of every variety, sweets and goody sale, Chinese raffle, special lottery tree, games for children, free parking and free admission. SINGING GROUP

CENTER CLOSED
The Chicopee Senior Center will be closed on Nov. 27 and 28.

FUEL ASSISTANCE
The guidelines to qualify for fuel assistance have been increased. Now , a single person can earn up to $27,876 and qualify. A two-person household income is now $36,454. If your income is below either of these guidelines, you will qualify for fuel assistance. TURNING 65 AND MEDICARE

BLOOD PRESSURE AND FLU CLINIC

ACTIVE SINGLES
Active Singles is sponsoring a singles hike on Dec. 7 at 9:30 a.m. Arrive at 9 a.m. The hike takes place at West Peak and Castle Craig in Meriden, Conn. Note: no kids or dogs on the hike. ANNUAL CHRISTMAS GATHERING

ST. PATRICK'S PARADE COMMITTEE
The St. Patrick's Parade Committee of Holyoke has raffle tickets available for a trip to Ireland for six people. Includes limo ride to and from Logan Airport, round trip airfare on Aer Lingus, hotels, meal, attractions and $500 spending money per traveler or $15,000 cash. Tickets are $100 each. A CAPELLA SINGERS
Most have heard about Holyoke Catholic's A Cappella Singers, founded in 1996; now you can see them perform. December will find the A Cappella Singers performing at the city of Chicopee's Tree Lighting Ceremony at City Hall on Dec. 5 at 4:30 p.m.

HOMEWORK HOUSE RAFFLE
Homework House Tutoring program is running a "Raise The Roof" raffle to help fix its roof. Proceeds from the raffle will go to match a Peabody Foundation challenge grant. Prizes include four tickets to the Boston Celtics Jan. 28 game at the TD BankNorth Garden, limo ride to and from Boston and dinner at the Ristorante Damiano in the North End, a $2,000 value; two tickets to the New England Patriots Dec. 21 game at Gillette Stadium; and four club level seats to the Boston Bruins Feb. 10 game at the TD Banknorth Garden. All prizes have been donated and proceeds will go directly to the grant. Advent Craft Fair
The annual Advent Craft Fair will take place Dec. 5 from 3 - 8 p.m. and Dec. 6 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the First (Center) Congregational Church, 1 Church St., opposite the Town Common. DR. "ROB" AT REEDS LANDING

CHRISTMAS CONCERT
St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral announces the 23rd annual Christmas Concert. The event will take place on Dec. 7 at 3:30 p.m. in the St. George Cathedral, Memorial Square. The Westfield State College Wind Symphony with the Westfield State Chorus and the Cancer Concert Grande Chorale will entertain the audience. All proceeds to benefit the American Cancer Society. TUESDAY MORNING MUSIC CONCERT
On Dec. 2, Becky Rosendahl Isaacson, organ, Kirsten Hadden Lipkens, oboe, and the vocal trio of Devon Bakum, Judith Brown and Teri LaFleur will perform for the Tuesday Morning Music Concert at Trinity United Methodist Church, 361 Sumner Ave., at 10:30 a.m. This is a holiday concert and admission is free.

HOLY CROSS SCHOOL COAT DRIVE
Through Dec. 1, the second and eighth grade classes at Holy Cross School, located on Eddywood Street, will be collectiong used children's and adult coats as a community service project. Coats will be distributed to needy families by the Salvation Army. Drop off coats at the school office from 8 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., weekdays. Access through either Eddywood or Wheeler Street entrances.

Host Larry Lirot Presentation

Annual Christmas Tree Sale
The Suburban Springfield Exchange Club will host their 23rd Annual Christmas Tree Sale at Heritage Park North Parking Lot on Route 83 in East Longmeadow, across from the Stop and Shop Plaza. Sale will take place the weekends of Dec. 6 - 7 and Dec. 13 - 14 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. each day and will take place no matter what the weather. BUS TRIP TO WASHINGTON, D.C.
There will be a bus trip and two night accomodations at Mount Vernon Hotel in Baltimore, Jan. 19 - 21. The bus will transport the group to Washington, D.C. for the Presidential Inauguration. Everything is included except the driver's tip. Each person is responsible to get tickets for the Inauguration. Bus will depart from Big Y parking lot on Boston Road at 7:30 a.m. on Jan. 19 and return at 5:30 p.m. on Jan 21. First come, first served. Space is limited. RAILS-TO-TRAILS LECTURE
The Athenaeum's Fall Lecture Series will conclude on Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. as Craig Della Penna, executive director of Northeast Greenway Solutions, presents "Inspiring People To Do Things Beyond Their Wildest Dreams: The Story of the Rails-to-Trails Movement in Westfield and Beyond." ARTS & CRAFTS FAIR

CHAMBER BREAKFAST
The Greater Westfield Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Holiday Breakfast on Dec. 12 at Tucker's Restaurant in Southwick. 30th reunion

KIDS' SATURDAY WORKSHOPS
The YMCA of Greater Westfield will host two hour fun workshops for children 6 - 11. WEST SPRINGFIELD
GERMAN PROTESTANT KIRCHENTAG
Members of Grace Lutheran Church will participate in the 32nd German Protestant Kirchentag in Breman, Germany, from May 20 - 24, 2009. Cost of the event is minimal if you take advantage of being paired with a host family who will provide bed and breakfast. Tickets to the event include all public transportation for the entire week. Pastor Harman will assist in making all Kirchentag related preparations such as tickets for the event, home stay arrangemetns and group airfare. For more info call Harman at 734-9268.

OPENING SANTA'S HOUSE
The 28th Annual opening of Santa's House, located at the Route 20 entrance to Mittineague Park, will take place on Dec. 7 at 2 p.m. Santa will arrive accompanied by police and fire escort and will greet visitors until 4 p.m. and then again from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. The event is free of charge.

SENIOR TRAVEL CLUB
The West Springfield Senior Travel Club will be taking a trip to see "What Christmas Means to Me" at the Nantasket Oceanfront Resort in Hull, Mass. Cost includes transportation, lunch and show. TREE LIGHTING
The 21st Annual Caroling on the Green and Tree Lighting Ceremony on the Elm Street Common will take place Dec. 4 at 5:45 p.m. Sing-a-long with Richie Mitnitck, Dave Colucci, Riley Sullivan and the West Springfield High School "Singing Blues" Chorus. This program is open to the public and free of charge.

"UNDER THE CHRISTMAS TREE"
On Dec. 6 at 2 p.m. at the West Springfield High School Auditorium, the fun continues "Under the Christmas Tree" as Rick Adam performs his entertaining vaudeville act, highlighted with songs and stories of snow, sledding, winter and the holiday season. This program is open to the public and free of charge.

PANCAKE BREAKFAST FUNDRAISER
The West Springfield Lions Club will host a pancake breakfast fundraiser to benefit the Operation Santa Program on Dec. 7 from 8 a.m. - noon at the Senior Center, 128 Park St. Santa Claus will be making a special appearance prior to officially opening Santa's House in Mittineague Park. Santa will greet visitors from 9 - 11 a.m. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children 7 and under and may be obtained at the Park & Rec. Dept. Office, Senior Center, Lally's Pipe & Book or at the door.
