EYE RESEARCH FUNDRAISER
Consignment Plus, a new shop in East Longmeadow, will be holding a fundraiser on Sept. 17-19 for the Springfield Lions Club. Ten percent of all sales will be donated to the Lions for MA Eye Research and other projects helping the blind. SENIOR FRIENDSHIP CLUB
The East Longmeadow Senior Friendship Club will be entertained by singer Jimmy Mazz at their "Welcome Back" party on Thursday, Sept. 17th at 12:30 p.m. (sponsored by PeoplesBank.) LEARN TO PLAY PITCH

FRENCH CLUB RESUMES
The French Club will resume its meetings on Wednesday, Sept. 16th at 11:00 a.m. at the Cancer House of Hope, 946 Plumtree Rd. in Springfield.

BOOK CLUB
The Book Club will resume its monthly meetings beginning Tuesday, September 29 at the Pleasant View Senior Center, 328 North Main St. The selected book is "World Without End," by Ken Follett. The Book Club meets the last Tuesday of each month at 10:30 a.m., and is free and open to all.

VETERANS COFFEE HOUR
Maryann Lyman from the Dept. of Veterans Affairs will speak about eligibility for veterans programs on Sept. 22 from 9 a.m.to 11 a.m. at the Pleasant View Senior Center, 328 North Main St. All veterans are welcome to attend. The next meeting will be Oct. 20 with guest speaker Larry White from the Holyoke VNA Hospice, who will discuss end of life issues. Coffee and snacks served at all meetings.

JOHN DEE PRESENTATION

COLORFUL WORKSHOPS
Christi Friesen, internationally known artist, author and instructor returns to Colorful Creations Bead Company, 37 Harkness Ave., for workshops on Sept. 14-16. She will be teach: Vintage Rhapsody, Monkey Business, Steampunk Bird, Dragonfly Drama and Crystal Flight. No experience with clay is necessary to attend these classes. Pre-registration is required. HAMPDEN
FLU CLINIC
The Hampden Board of Health will sponsor a flu clinic to Hampden residents 60 year of age or over as well as adults of any age who have a chronic illness and can provide a doctor's written approval. The clinic will be held on Sept. 24 from 2-3 p.m. at the senior center. Bring your insurance card with you on the day of the clinic. If you could bring your insurance card to the senior center before the event it would help speed up the process. Call 566-5588 between 10 a.m-2 p.m., Mon.-Thurs. to reserve our flu shot.

WATERCOLOR CLASS
Joyce Emerle will be teaching a watercolor class at the Hampden Senior Center on Wed. beginning Sept. 30. The class will run for eight weeks from 12:30 - 3 p.m. Anyone that is interested may call the center at 566-5588 after 10 a.m.

ART CLASS

JOHNNY APPLESEED FESTIVAL
The Philip Michael Lauro II Discovery Room at the Storrs Library in Longmeadow will present the second annual Johnny Appleseed Festival Sept. 25. We will celebrate one of our oldest local resident who is known throughout the nation for planting hundreds of apple orchards along the early frontier. This one hour program for children of all ages will feature, stories, crafts and activities for a bushel of fun for everyone. GREEN TEAM MEETING

2009 NUTCRACKER PERFORMANCE

FALL IN NEW YORK

"CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR"
Christmas isn't truly here until you have a chance to visit Radio City Music Hall and see the "Christmas Spectacular". New acts have been added to the show this season along with the traditional favorites such as the March of the Wooden Soldier and the Live Nativity Scene. Our seats are located in the Orchestra/First Mezzanine Section for the 2pm show. There is time following the show to enjoy the sites and sounds of the holiday season in New York City.
