CHICOPEE — Erin MacDonald, a student at Holyoke Catholic High School and the daughter of Patricia and Craig MacDonald, was crowned the 2012 Chicopee Colleen at the annual contest presented at the Castle of Knights Saturday night. Her court from left to right in the photo shown here, included Annie O'Reilly, Samantha Hill, Sofia Carapeta and Kara Lacoste. The five finalists were asked to answer a question about a cause to which they would donate time as the final step of the judging. MacDonald said that she would continue her support for Homework House in Holyoke, where she is currently volunteering as a tutor and would like to establish such a program in Chicopee. MacDonald said she had dreamed of being a colleen since she was "a little girl." This year was the last time for Brian Corridan and Denise Nowak to act as co-hosts of the event and they were thanked for their many years of service.
