SPRINGFIELD — The first grade class at the Milton Bradley School gathered on Dec. 22 to learn the winning name for the Fire Department’s new Pierce Velocity 100’ Arial truck.

The students had submitted names and had drawn photos of the truck.

The winner was Briana Perez, whose name for the truck was “Firestorm.”

After the announcement of the name, the Fire Department Chaplains, Father Gary Dailey and the Rev. J. Willard Cofield Jr., led the group in prayer and blessed the new truck.

Perez received a gift bag from the Fire Department for her submission.

The new truck is located at Fire Department headquarters at Spring and Worthington streets, the fire station that protects the Milton Bradley School.
