What was once a crowded storage room in the Indian Orchard Branch Library is now a resource for both the library and the neighborhood.

On April 12, library officials joined patrons, City Council President Orlando Ramos and Mayor Domenic Sarno in officially opening a branch’s new community room.

The Branch Manager Diane Houle explained that until now, there was no area for community meetings or for arts and crafts classes.

Cleaning out the room and preparing it for its new role took between six and seven months, she added.
