Post office shouldn’t close
It is with deep sadness that I learned of the planned closing of the Springfield Postal Service Mail Processing Center. The Springfield Post Office has always been regarded as an outstanding facility with superior, reliable, prompt delivery of mail.
In the 1960s, I was employed as a prominent stock market advisor with a worldwide clientele. I chose to be located in Springfield instead of Boston or New York City because of the reputation of the Springfield Post Office’s excellent on time delivery of first class mail. I mailed a weekly time sensitive newsletter to clients as far away as Saudi Arabia. There were very few that did not arrive on time.
Also, The Wall Street Journal selected Springfield to publish and mail its daily paper because of Springfield’s on time performance.
On a personal note, I receive my mail-in prescriptions from Nevada in usually two days!
What a shame to close this stellar facility with its many dedicated employees who made this one of the best in the country.
