Question 3 Wake-Up Call for Legislature

Simply stated, Proposition #3 asks if the state tax should stay the same, or be lowered to 3.5 percent.

Should the state legislature see that the people want the state tax to be the same 6 percent they could say "let us raise it to 7 plus percent or more."

Should the state legislature see that the people want the state tax lowered to 3 percent, they could say, let us raise it back to 5 percent. As we did before, raise to 6 percent.

Why did they not have it on the ballot as 5 percent instead of 3 percent to begin with? Vote change to 3 percent yes.
