Seeing the Light

Do you want to help those who may have some type of eye impairment? You can, can, can, you know, by donating your old, no longer useful glasses, glass cases and loose lenses to various collecting locations in Longmeadow and East Longmeadow.

More specifically in Longmeadow, collection centers are located at these centers: Brightwood Hardware store in a gray bucket hung up on right side of the door as you enter the store; at the main entrance of the Big Y, the container labeled Longmeadow Lions box deposit; at the Specs-Perry inside the Williams Mall next to KiddlyWinks and Visions Incorporated on Longmeadow Street (Route 5) at the mini-mall next to the Mobil station and the Hampden Bank. The Visions Inc. has another box within the store.

Other locations in Springfield include Edmunds Opticians on upper Sumner Avenue next to Gus and Paul's Restaurant.

There is also a donation box at the post office at the industrial park in East Longmeadow.

Please take advantage and help the visually impaired see the light.

Also, the Lions are looking for recruits to build up the Longmeadow Lions Club either as Lions (men), Lionesses (women) or Leos (teenagers 15 to 19).
