Gertrude Stein once said, "Unexpressed thanks is no thanks at all." I am expressing my gratitude to the woman who found my credit cards at the East Longmeadow F. L. Roberts service station and turned them into the associate on duty.
When I discovered my loss, I was distressed and was greatly relieved the next day when I was contacted by the manager, Pete Jakobowski, who notified me that the cards had been turned in. I asked if the finder had left a name because I wanted to reward her, but I was told she did identify herself. I thought of no other means to acknowledge this honorable act but through a letter to the editor.
