Wilbraham Middle School held their annual International Week from April 9 to April 13. The Wilbraham Middle School PTO coordinates International Week for the students in an effort to promote diversity and education from different countries and cultures from across the world.
Starting on April 9 the students were given the opportunity to taste a variety of foods from England, Japan, Poland, Greece and Ireland. Additionally, the students attended assemblies with international entertainment provided by a variety of local and diverse performers that represents cultures such as Japan, Greece and Ireland. The students attended the following three programs: Japan with Motoko, Greece with Myth Masters and Ireland with Mac Talla Mor. This program is supported in part by a grant from the Wilbraham Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency."
Along with our thanks to the Wilbraham Cultural Council and the Massachusetts Cultural Council we would like to offer our appreciation and gratitude to the following sponsors: Big Y, Stop and Shop and to the Lee Family for the Vietnamese dragon costume, Wilbraham Super Mom Sue Prairie for baking and supplying 700 English scones, LaBudas Market for supplying Paczkis, Milano Importing Co., Inc for supplying Sesame Snacks, Tokyo for supplying the Orange Chicken, and finally, Johnsens Catering for the Irish Soda Bread.
