I wish to thank the Memorial Day Committee for its efforts in commemorating our fallen service men and women. Each year the work of this committee results in a moving ceremony recognizing the great sacrifices made on behalf of us all.
Although it was my intention to participate in this solemn occasion, I was unable to do so due to a family medical situation that occurred late Sunday night. I have since asked the committee to accept my apology for my unanticipated absence.
I remain in strong support of the Memorial Day Committee and look forward to assisting with and participating in future ceremonies.
