Unhappy with fence option |

I was disappointed to learn from the town meeting that a plastic picket fence would replace the present chain link at the old part of Green Lawn Cemetery. It was my hope that perhaps iron stays would be more appropriate as a match to the other side. In Longmeadow and Wilbraham the cemetery fence appears to blend well into the long landscape it surrounds. I do not believe a picket fence in this short area will have the same effect. Since it is a done deal I hope that the fence will be moved back at the point of Calender Avenue to enable drivers to get a better view of traffic approaching from the left, especially in winter. Presently, one must move forward to the outer edge of the crosswalk at times to see cars approaching from the left.
I would like to suggest a more attractive "Greenlawn" sign could be installed, even one mounted on a post would honor our past citizens.
