Was your front page editorial "analysis" as stated or union propaganda? No one disputes a person the right to join a union, as Gov. Walker has stated, he is just giving the person the option to join as opposed to making it mandatory. I suspect this is what you were referring to with your theme of democracy.
Your news analysis also confuses the difference between public and private sector unions. Private sector unions realize they can not strangle the company too much or the business will either shut down or lay people off or move out of the area. Public unions are not bargaining with an "evil" business owner. They are bargaining with their neighbors, who have to deal with increased taxes to support their employment. In addition, when public unions collect dues, they are used to fund the elections of politicians who ensure employment and higher-than-average benefits.
Most people are fed up with their ever-increasing taxes; union employees must realize layoffs are a fact of life. Heaven forbid these people ever had to come face to face with the economic realities of owning a business and reconciling a balance sheet.
